Not a city journal in the same sense as say 'Nexis of Genesis', but more a selection of snapshots of my newest city as it is built up and expanded accross the regional map.

Background Note - The city of Danavia, the second city of the continent of Volstad, built after massive natural disasters (HD meltdown) destroyed the Imperial city of Danograd.

Danograd is currently under re-construction, and won't be ready for many months. I hope you enjoy in the meantime, these few shots of the residential and commerical areas of Danavia, and if people would like, I can get some pictures of the Industrial, Port, Naval complex 48.gif

Looks promising, your layouts are pleasing to the eye, and it looks like you probably have some pretty whacky transit systems up your sleeve.

If I may suggest though, replace the toll booths with Snoopy's new ones? Unless you think the style wouldn't fit with the asphalt mod, I think it'd probably look a bit better than what you have...but that's me.

Good start. 44.gif

Interesting road layouts. I'd be concered in real life about the highway narrowing all the way down to one lane each way and then becoming a highway again. Reminds me of some disfunctional setups in New England, specifically the Sagamore Rotary... But I like it here nonetheless. Excellent start!

Nice start! The only thing I suggest is that, have less steep gradient for your highways, for roads that inbetween 2 highways. There is a few slope mods. eg BRF slope mod is pretty handy tools and many more n STEX.

Thank you all for your comments and advice :D

I borrowed the Bridge Idea from Mexicanboy13r's San Francisco region, all credit to that gentleman.

I'll work on the slope there now, Whilst I do that, I have one singular picture (My computer is in a mood), of rubbish-disposal tecnique in Danavia

I like the way you're making the city realistic, and the road setup near the bridge is nice.44.gif
I hope there aren't any rubbish chutes leading straight to the sea in real life!14.gif

Update the Third - Industrial, Sea-Port and Naval Facility at Danavia, also, I smoothed out the slopes, as earlier suggested.

    (all pics hosted offsite)

Kalashnikov, you've made a great start to a promising journal! Your ports are marvellous, especially the battleship row. I wonder, though, do those two giant shipyards ruin your industrial demand (production industry)? I remember building one shipyard in a city, and immediately after that I had no demand at all for production industry. All other $$ industry got abandoned and the whole balance was gone.. so what about two of these things in your city? Do you have a suggestion for that?

good luck on your cj! 44.gif44.gif

    Thanks Utora 44.gif

The two shipyards are viable because I have a lot of low-wealth workers in the main city-area, more workers than jobs infact, so they all get across the bay to work in the 'yards. You just need lots and lots of low-med wealth workers available.
