This computer actually, oddly, has a dual core processor (1.66 GHz). On the other hand, it only has 504 MB of RAM. Which, combined with the fact that McAffee is a ridiculous resource hog, means the hard drive always gets hot since it's basically perpetually needed for a scratch disk.

6035. In case you had a desktop, I would have suggested to install a fan at the front, in front of the HDDs, but since you have a laptop, that's obviously out of the question.

It seems to be that. Seeing as it is around 6:15am on the east coast of the US, that's understandable.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

Most Simtropolites are from North America, so the net rate should increase.

McAffee isn't like that to me, but then again I have a i5-520m, 4gb of ram and 2-3 week old laptop running Windows 7

I slept late. Maylay is in heat again but this is the last straw. I'm getting her fixed next week. I cannot take this yelping any more!

Muck308, I watched that last game in the Mellon Arena, and I'm a Flyers fan!

Is it worth putting something up in the news on the home page advertising this?

SNIPE!

Put what up? That you attended the game... or that you attended as a Philly fan? I don't know if it is news worthy, but I don't see any reason why you wouldn't want to be there... as a fan of hockey.

No matter. We've a beautiful new arena right across the street just dying to host the next Stanley Cup Series!

I'm back after an extended break. Schools out, so I've been hanging with some friends for the past few days.

Mentioning hockey in here again? Well, Friday I was among 2 million people hanging out in the streets of Chicago, all for the Hawks! Hot, humid, but awesome!

It's interesting. The most popular international sports tend to be the simple, easy to follow ones that can be summed up by "run around and try to put the object in the opposing goal". Soccer, hockey, basketball...

I personally find these sorts of games to be monotonous and boring for their lack of complexity. It is perhaps then no surprise that I am a fan of the most complicated sport out there, baseball (the Yankee game is on as I type this...).

6054. Skimbo, you're off.

Duke, what's so complex about baseball? It's just some guys running round in circles, trying to hit a ball.

Except that the rules of baseball are nowhere near that simple. For one thing, it's actually theoretically possible to win a game of baseball without anyone on your team getting a hit. 2.gif And there are in fact many different ways this could happen, as there are many different ways to get on base and/or advance bases besides getting a hit. Walks, hit batsmen, dropped strike threes, sacrifice bunts, sacrifice flies, stolen bases, errors, balks...

Compare this to soccer or hockey, where there's really only one way to score a goal. Maybe two for soccer if you count penalty kicks as a separate method.

IMO, baseball is one of the boring sports. Maybe it should be said few sports can keep my interest for an extended period of time anyway, but I just find baseball to be one of the more boring. The Cubs-Sox game was on Saturday while I was at a friends house, and the only reason I was entertained by it was cuz we (there were about 5 of us) were doing whatever in the same room the game was on in, not watching very much of it at all.

The FIFA World Cup is the ONLY time I will ever watch soccer on TV. But what's up with those stinkin' horns!? They are so annoying when you are watching or listening to the game. It sounds like bees are mawling the reporters!

How can you say that? Its the most intresting sport, its the only sport i will watch every team play. I even tape certin games like Steven Strasburgs debut so i can watch them over and over to get my own scoting report. I never miss a game on ESPN and MLB Network , mostly because i follow Everyones stats closely. I even have a countdow for Derek Jeter's 3,000th hit and Andy Pettitte's 346th win as a Yankee which i hope to see if he does not retire at the end of the season. I was hoping Ken Griffrey Jr. would be the first since Hank Aaron to make it to 2,000 Career RBIs. I would also like to see Omar Vizquel pass 10,000 ABs, I hope Thome makes it to 600 Hrs.
