Earthquakes........ that's a diffcult topic.

The Bible does not say anything about earthquakes.

No. I have, however, heard of the Book of Revelation.

Although often pluralised, it is, in fact, singular.

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

When I was a kid I used to be so worried about California falling into the ocean. That fear has waned as I got older. Even still, there is potential for a large earthquake to happen in California, but any prediction of such in the Bible is purely conicidental in my opinion.

Sorry. In other news, cleavage proven to cause earthquakes. As many women as possible tried to show as much cleavage as possible on the 22 (or was it 28) of last month. An earthquake hit Taiwan 12 hours later.

EDIT: I might be in Mexico with my Dad's family on July 4. Otherwise, I will go to a picnic BBQ with my Mom's family.

Off topic blatent self-promotion:

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3

Dam, this must be boaring during the new year's night. I love it when everyone around shoots his own rockets into the sky. So it lasts often for more than one hour until the last fireworks dissapear......

Fireworks have been illegal in New York since 1996. A shame, really... the sky used to light up at night on the 4th. Now, thanks to modern nanny-state safety paranoia, it has fallen silent.

Connecticut, meanwhile, permits "sparklers of not more than one hundred grams of pyrotechnic mixture per item, which are nonexplosive and nonaerial."

4th of July party thus tends to be at our house nowadays. We'll definitely be buying some fireworks once the date gets closer.

When did we get off?

Oh, and Skimbo, they do allow small "fireworks" (ie sparklers) but thats about it. It's not too bad though, most towns and cities have large displays (in many places you can see two displays at once, one to one side and one to the other)

I don't know what to put here anymore.

They are illegal here too, in most municipalities, but cops tend to refrain from issuing citations on the 4th of July. One year the cops pulled up and just watched the show my buddy was putting on at a party. When he was out they said "No more" and left.

Starting with un's post there. 3.gif

(which I suspect was not bold as an attempted correction but rather due to his "testing")

I didnt notice that... hmm anyways it was a test of the < span> tag and the forum (remember when I did the div testing? 3.gif). the style="text-align: right;" part failed, but the style="font-weight:bold;" worked. 5478

I thought an invasion of an army of bat wielding turkeys would be dangerous enough.

That is not my point, how many people die from car related injures a year? but yet driving is not illegal, who are they (the ones who wrote the law) to say what is dangerous and not. If someone uses something incorrectly and injures themselves, its their own fault why should everyone else suffer?. My view is the state should either put everyone in a padded room or allow the people to make decisions for themselves, we all have brains we can think we don't need states doing the thinking for us.

Yep I agree Larks. The Government can't wrap us all in bubblewrap because a select few do not read

instructions. The few people seem to ruin the fun for the majority in these cases. Although the Government

wrapping us in bubble wrap does sound fun 9.gif.

It's can actually be dangerous to fry turkeys, many a house have burnt down on thanksgiving (if you fry a frozen turkey it explodes), but a bat wieldin turkey revolution would be pretty Sweet. Turkey Power. Anyways, municipalities can ban fireworks here, but I've never seen police actually stop anybody, even when they drove by while they were going off. I live in unincorporated county land though so that doesn't effect me. All the state does is ban m80s, cherry bombs, and silver salutes. Everything else is fine under the profesional level. And quite a few people near my house have professional liscenses, as well as being near two big displays, so we have quite a good show. I can't imagine what it would be like without fireworks on the 4th of July, but I can understand the reasons for prohibiting it. And it's not always people, sometimes it's the fireworks, my neighbor had something explode out the side instead of up, and it shot at everyone's houses, lukily there was not fire or injuries, but they are explosives, and they are dangerous.

I'm not saying they are not dangerous, but so is everything else in this world you can die just by walking down the street.

5486. Statistic time: You're more likely to die going to the shop to buy a lottery ticket than you are to win the lottery.

or die while riding in one as it crashes.

Thats a odd question lol.
