Game Loading Time

I've got a pretty big plugin folder, and it takes me roughly 5 to 6 minutes to load the game. I can understand that  the waiting time increases but sometimes it will take nearly 10 minutes. Is this normal, and is there anyway to remedy this?

Yes it is completely normal, my game takes somewhere between 10 and 30 minutes to load! There is no way I know of to fix this except for getting a really high tech computer.

Well hopefully I won't come to the point to where it takes 30 minutes! That would be a littllllllle ridiculous.

Thanks for that though, I know that I'm now not alone.

Try using Dat Packer.  If you have tons of custom buildings and props, that is most likely the cause of slow loading time and lag while the simulator is running.  You'll be amazed at what a difference Dat Packer makes, especially when saving the game or switching between cities or regions.

Load time is a funciton of many things, but for a given computer and memory and harddrive setup, yes it will climb to larger and larger times.. And yes DatPacker will significantly decrease both load times and "city switching" times. I also don't know if it works on a MAC.

The download works fine for me.. You do have to go to SC4Devotion, then jump to the "BSC LEX" and REGISTER ON THAT SITE in order to be able to dl from there. Registering for SC4D isn't enough
