ComputerGuy890100: Well, a lot of nightlife happens in a city of 280,000 people.

ironicepitome: Got it... I won't tell anyone except for the Daily Herald

    Sabbatical

Over the past week, I've been getting frustrated with San Paso.  Just today, SC4 crashed 4 times.  I am trying to figure out how to balance demand and unemployment.  Also, I'm taking a vacation to Europe soon.   Plus, I'm a  stupid lazy teenager who'd rather read webcomics than work on this CJ I have homework.  So, I've decided, for the sake of this CJ and my sanity, to take a sabbatical.

The sabbatical will last until the weekend after the break ends.  The CJ will be back then.

However, Trixies will be announced soon, so I will be back when they're announced to make my defeat speech.  You won't want to miss my losing the Trixies!

You would mention Trixies again. Well, if that's what motivates you to make lots of updates, then so be it. Anyways, enjoy your break.

    We Wons a Trixie

As promised, I will be making my Trixie Acceptance Speech on my city journal.  I won the trixie for most improved city journalist.  I have advanced from gouge-your-eyes-out-awful to merely bad.  Also, I got to be the runner-up for best newspaper due to jokes about Kanye West and France surrendering.  Expect the world to end soon.  So-

    *Kanye West interrupts*

Yo, N106, I'm really proud of you, and I'm gonna let you finish, but I think the award for most improved journalist belongs to-

*Kanye West is yanked off stage by 10 strong bodyguards that magically appeared out of nowhere*

Okay, I forgot what I was going to say.  Merry Christmas to all!  Or, if you are a communist who hates all forms of democracy believe in political correctness, Happy Holidays!

Congratulations with your Trixie! You indeed deserved it, as you have improved a lot. Though I didn't read your first CJ, I did read your second one, and the third one, and you have indeed improved a lot since then.

I'm also looking forward to your next update in January, until then: Merry Christmas and a happy new year!

    Regards,

    Korot

Ya see, this is exactly why we should hate Kanye West, and communists. Congrats! *begins formulating plan to take him down next year with his Red Ryder carbine-action 200-shot range model air rifle*

Congratulations on your trixie!! I really like how you've perservered with this CJ and kept going through the years of time. It's been interesting going back and rereading the CJ to this point as well.

    Keep up the good work.

So, I started reading this cj at about 8:00 pm, from the very beginning. I took a half hour break for dinner, then continued reading. I just finished at 12:25 am. That's right, I just spent a full 4 hours reading the entire history of San Paso from the very first update to the most recent. I have seen every event, every business transaction, and every news story to effect your city in the past 4 hours. I have to say, I am EXTERMELY impressed. It is absolutely amazing what you have done with your cj, and I love the details and realism you have shown us. It has been fun reading it, and I can't wait until you return from vacation to keep updating San Paso. My only regret is not being able to follow it from the very beginning. Nonetheless, I am here now, and look forward to becoming a very active businessman in the city of San Paso when you return. Looking forward to following along with all of your future updates as well.

    Happy New Year's!

Larks2242: The area is a protected state park, though.  Logging is illegal.  Plus, wood houses aren't that big in San Paso, with it being so hot and all...

    Nardo69: Thank you

    Benedict: AWESOME!!!!

chrissc94: Meh... there really isn't much to see in the mountains.  I'll try to get the occasional photo.

ComputerGuy890100: I took it on Christmas.

ncvegas: Wow... that's a long reply.  You spent 4.5 hours reading my CJ!  I'm impressed.  The updates will be back this Friday.  And, business is a bit slow now... but I'll bet some opportunities will come up by 1960.  Happy new year to you too.

Hawkeye9: Thank you.  And happy new year to you too.

Archean: Merry late Christmas to you today.  And I'm glad you liked the snow image.

    San Paso is coming back!

As of this Friday, the next update will be posted.  Updates won't be as often as before, unfortunately.  I'm in the hardest part of the school year.  Also, it takes a lot more work to make updates.  Also, there is a bit of division of my interests.  After years of dissatisfaction with newspaper comics, I suddenly found many great webcomics on the web.

I will aim for 2 updates a week, but can guarantee 1 update a week.

However, I will be providing newspapers with every update.

Also, I noticed that lots of people commented during my sabbatical.  Ben's Top Ten with me being in the top 2 must have helped.  Also, Shingure reviewed my CJ back on the 27th.  I'm going to take the liberty of posting the text of the review below.

"This CJ written by N106 , takes a perspective that only a certain few use in order to showcase their cities. The perspective of growth during these time lapses are, infact , what makes this CJ one of the ones that upon reading it , stood out as something that has loads of potential. This Trixie winning Cj also has become the project of the Most Improved City journalist as well. Now it's time for us to take a look into the world of San Paso , where time passes.

This CJ has positives that revolve around it's structure and some of it's visual work. The strucure of this This Cj is infact very nicely organized and the CJ also retains a table of contents on the first page for navigation. Always a plus when it comes to CJs like this one that reach over the 5 page mark and have an average of 3 updates per page. The pictures and story behind them are indeed creative and inventive and also allow the reader to take a look and contemplate how the area was in 1850 ( but it's not completely possible due to a future stated reason , next paragraph for this reason. ). The photoediting on some pictures is also good too. But this is where I must head into the negatives as well.

On the negative side , the pictures , even though some are well photoshopped, a majority are overdone , Some pictures are photoshopped so heavily that if you look at them for an extended period of time , you'll get eyestrain while trying to focus on the subject of the picture or looking for what the captions are talking about. Another issue is that in the pictures , the time frames aren't exactly matched well to what's in the picture. In the first pictures well up into page 6 [ at least ] there are cars in these pictures. During the 1850's cars weren't existent and even during the 1880's they were rare. Since the reader has set his CJ up in the realistic world , it makes some realism buffs scratch their heads and raise an eyebrow as to why they are there.  Repetatis Maxis is also another problem in some of the latter pictures and while looking around there is a slight lack of custom content. While some pictures do have some custom content displayed , a vast majority of the pictures [ especially the more recent ones ] displays some houses repeating themselves in a fashion that makes the area look arkward. Indeed this a problem that a few more trips to LEX and STEX won't fix with a keen eye."

I would like to thank Shingure for writing the review.

As for the negative things in the review, I'll do my best to fix them.  Though I can't change past updates, I'll do my best on future updates.

    Comments and questions welcome!
