Chinatown

So I'm in the process of rebuilding a hopelessly borked city, and one of the things I'm doing is taking more care with the residential layouts, to try to create distinct neighborhoods.  One of the things I'd really like to do is create a Chinatown; sadly, however, a search for "Chinatown" on the STEX produces one Chinatown gate (already downloaded), a few modern Chinatown buildings for Asian cities, and some lots labelled "Chinatown" which look very, erm, 2003.  So I was wondering if anybody had some more suggestions for American style Chinatown buildings.

Just to be specific, my city is modelled on big, dense East Coast metropoli like Philadelphia and New York, where the Chinatowns are generally composed of W2W 19th century walk-ups, constructed in Western styles but often with Eastern architectural flourishes added to the facades later.  Even the buildings without those flourishes will have prominent signs in Chinese characters, with signs in English either less conspicuous or entirely absent.  I have an idea that the pickings are pretty slim, but I'll take what I can get.  I'd also be interested in any prop packs featuring large commercial signs in Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or Vietnamese (since modern "Chinatowns" are typically home to many Asian nationalities), as well as other approppriate props, so I could, if necessary mod existing W2W BATs on my own.

I also have this same problem; I am planning to start building a Chinatown in my city very soon now, and most of the Chinatown buildings on the STEX are just a bunch of Maxis buildings plopped together in some weird combination. But I did find this.

I may be making a Chinese BAT collection sometime, so it may appear on the stex.

Info will be on my site

I sat down a couple of months ago to do a bunch of research to create a good, richly detailed set of Chinatown buildings. I, too, was nonplussed and underwhelmed by the search results on the STEX after having typed in "chinatown." The ones I was planning on doing were along the lines of a San Francisco, New York, or Los Angeles kind of C-town - that is, a bit touristy and stereotypical. I have several partially completed buildings, mostly untextured - but it's a bit of an endeavor. It's still on my list of things to do, and I will hopefully be energized enough in the coming weeks/months to get something put together...

GOOD TEXTURES ARE MADE, NOT FOUND.
(I get tired of saying that in BAT threads.)

"I believe in talking behind peoples' backs. That way, they hear it more than once." - Fran Lebowitz
