Trains and NAM

I downloaded the NAM and all the trains disappeared. Neither the intercity trains, nor GLR or monorail is running. The intercity trains and the GLR sometimes flicker like ghosts at the stations, thats all. I downloaded the train generator dirt patch and the flickering increased but thats about it. Where did I go wrong?

Just a guess...

Do you happen to have a left-hand drive version of the game, but did not install the left-hand drive component of NAM? I know that would cause problems with rail networks, but I'm not sure about the automata...

Also, for NAM you need SC4 Deluxe or Rush Hour with the current game patch.

Well try downloading some custom trains off the stex.

Could be a bug, re-install the NAM, or update to the current version.

I am having a similar problem --Without NAM all my trains are running fine and the route query tool shows that 1189 sims use one particular station. After I install NAM I get lots of commute time ZOTS and the route query shows that only 4 workers use the station (except if I route query the track post-NAM it says 1189 passenger train).

I've tried uninstalling NAM and the trains start to work again and houses become full. Reinstall NAM, same thing happens. I've tried installing NAM with different settings 'A' and 'Z' but neither of these work either.

Has this happened to anyone else?

A few things to check...

Do you have Deluxe or Rush Hour with the game patch?

Did you install the appropriate Left-hand or Right-hand component of the NAM?

Did you wait a good length of time (maybe as much as 10 years) for the new simulator to balance out?

Although a change in traffic simulators may temporarily reduce traffic volume for up to 10 years, by itself it won't produce commute time zots.  Those must be coming from some other problem.  I'd suspect the old LH/RH switcheroo, or maybe a hidden copy of an older NAM somewhere.
