My New York City

Hi everyone, I've been a long time lurker on here and have learnt a lot from the knowledge available here. After visiting New York for the first time last September and falling in love with it, I thought I'd have a go at building it myself in SC4.

The aim is to build the city by actually playing the game, only with the aid of an Industry multiplier and unlocking all the available gifts to use at any time. I've been dipping in to it over last month using google map and a subway map to build my city. Obviously I have already encountered many obstacles that mean I have to deviate slightly from reality to get funcionality and I'm sure more skilled builders could get round them better than myself.

Anyway thought I'd show you my work so far. It's early days in the build and you'll notice that there is a large grid that is not tru to life on West Lower Downtown. This is an industrial area that was required to get the city on it's feet and will be moved as development continues.

I'll add more images as interesting areas develop but would always welcome feedback and suggestions. I'll also provide some data along the way to see how commutes work in SC4 with New Yorks transit system. One way streets aren't in place yet but will be added as each area of the city is filled.
