Well, once again, hiya all!

I'm a total beginner at Simcity 4, and I've been having trouble with my cities finicial situations.  I tried a shot at the Money Making Tutorial, and it didn't really help me, because it only told me to take out expensive buildings, and taking out things that arent neccessary, and lowering funds for buildings. I already did that before, and it isn't really working.  Is there any advice that someone could give me so that i have a higher income, instead of a higher spending amount?

Thanks!

My primary stratagy is to just zone a lot of low-density residential and some medium-density industrial when starting out - you'll get poor R$ residents and dirty industry primarily, but when you need to actually make a profit that's fine for now. Put in only an elementary school/library when starting off, and you'll be fine. Finally, if you're on easy or medium don't be concerned if you're in the red for a little bit while starting out - just let buildings get built and you'll be fine.

If this helps, you're welcome. If this doesn't, could you specify where you're losing most of your money?

What I did is I continued the Big City Tutorial and worked from there. I added a mass transit system, heathcare, education, and fire and police stations as necessary. After a while, I zoned for medium and high density residential when the EQ and health increased. AS my profit increased, I expanded the mass transit system and started zoning for all high density zones. I had an "accidental" fire that wiped out all of the dirty industry, but it gave me a chance to rebuild the industrial zones much better than before. Sure, some sims moved out when the dirty industry left, but it was sonn compensated by manufacturing and high tech. There are currently around 50k sims and my profit from mass transit is over 3k. I also make around 3k more than I lose each month.

Spam the place with bus stops. Every 6 tiles. Eventually you will make money on mass transit.

We can inspire others through witness so that one grows together in communicating. But the worst thing of all is religious proselytism, which paralyzes: “I am talking with you in order to persuade you.” No. Each person dialogues, starting with his and her own identity. The church grows by attraction, not proselytizing.    - Pope Francis
