CitiesXL on lower settings?

SC4 can work on just about any computer so long as you set the renderer to software rather than hardware.

Does CXL have a feature like this? I'm asking because my laptop struggles with the higher end of the graphics scale, and although it can run mid range graphics fairley well I can see CXL lagging like hell when I download it with my Beta Key.

I'll probabley still play it with lag anyway, but as you can imagine, I'd rather not.
