Walter Cronkite Dies at age 92

Legendary Newsman Walter Cronkite died today at age 92 in New York City. he was best known for reporting major newstories of the 20th century on the CBS Evening News and his famous end of the newscast quote "and thats the way it is, goodnight"

Wow, and I was just thinking yesterday how he would be at the top of a dead pool... I should have looked one up and put money on him.

I'm one of the few here who remembers him doing the evening news, he retired from it in 1981.

I saw this on the news at work. It seems kinda funny, so many people were saying he would be next.

I am unfortunately just a little too young to remember having seen him live, but have seen many of his classics. His reaction to the JFK assassination is one of those many classics he will long be remembered for.

May he rest in peace.

I remember seeing him on tv as kid quite vividly, always so matter of fact. Tolerable for a kid such as myself back in the 60s-70s since we didn't have options back in those days, you watched what your parents did. At least mine watched Cronkite.
