Ban a building from your city

McCormick place (4x4 R $$$) is probably one of my least favorite structures in the game.  First, it only houses 1300 sims and takes up a spacious 4x4 lot.  Second, it's a stage 8 building which means it can't be upgraded..  I'd rather have a stage 8 R $$$ building that holds 2000+ sims grow there instead.  Third, the building design itself isn't very visually appealing, at least to me.

Is there any way to effectively "ban" this structure from appearing in my city without resorting to indirect methods like using "Make Historical" (which also prevents other Stage 8 R $$$ from appearing).  I'm looking for an addon that bans certain buildings or at least one that'll demolish a banned building upon construction.

Your wording confuses me a little. How would make historical prevent other stage 8 R$$$ buildings from appearing? i thought that only keep the current building on the lot.

- I don't want McCormick place to appear

- Making lower stage or lower wealth buildings historical defeats the purpose (I want *other* stage 8 R $$$ buildings)

Bulldoze it everytime it appears...or ban that particular building style, although that would restrict some other buildings as well.

I believe that there is a way to block all Maxis buildings, so there must be a way to mod the game to target specific buildings I would imagine. Another option is to install a exemplar file that would modify McCormick Place to have more residents. Do this with Ilives.

I'd love a mod like this too; those "modern apartments" are horrible to look at.

I would ban Cecilia's Greasy Taco Stand from my cities. That and Depiesse's Diner - I can't stand to see that little white building grow...
