Ok, so I think you are all tired of me asking how to do stuff that I should know, BUT I really have been trying for about 3 months to get highways to work and I don't know how! This is the main reason right here...

I don't know how to connect them to roads and stuff, like how do you get people to get on the highway?

Please Help

agreed. just drag a road, avenue, or another highway over your current highway - it'll make a preset on/off ramp. if you have the current NAM, then you can plop down a whole variety of ramps.

also, it is important that your highway is functional. if it's a big circle around your city, then it won't work that well. it should connect your sims from their homes to their jobs. also, installing the NAM will help improve the transit network's "path finding".

If you want you can connect an avenue directly to the end of the highway, elevated or ground.

There should be a selection of ramps in the second menu.

Once you've clicked on the ramp button, Tab and Shift-Tab to cycle through the types. (You also need to do this for various NAM puzzle pieces.) Home and End rotate.

As said, build on-ramps over the highways.

Be sure to check the omnibus. A lot of info like this that you are asking should be there. Plus you get a ton of useful tips that often many experienced players didn't know.

You can also transition highways into avenues. Just drag the avenue up to the end of the highway (or vice versa). The yellow indicator of what's getting built should show the transition. Then release the mouse button and bam!

If you always take the same road, you will never see anything new.
