Da title, yo.

The beautiful Zärin Flumen, situated between the mountains and the sea, is a creation between life and concrete. In its majestic hills and mighty waterways, there shall be a even more divine creation waiting to be seen.

Sounds like a nice location. Hopefully it will prove to be a beautiful city as well!

To search for the ideal city today is useless. For all cities are different. Each one has its own spirit, its own problems, and its own pattern of life. As long as the city lives, these aspects continue to change. Thus to look for the ideal city is not only a waste of time but may be seriously detrimental. In fact, the concept is obsolete; there is no such thing.

-Steen Eiler Rasmussen, 1898-1990 (SimCity 2000 User Manual).

Calm beaches and beautiful landscapes define Zärin.

On the Den'enth island, choose from colorful housing...

Looking amazing, cool idea and all.

Just maybe swap out those maxis windmills for ones that don't chop the heads off your sims?!

Hahaha - only kidding, again, looking great!

I like the scenery alot, looks a nice li'l town. Great houses as well! I noticed with the wind generators that some trees look perilously close to the rotors! 3.gif Great work so far.

Very lovely BT! I like them boats, and the killer wind turbines. 3.gif

    polaris-click.jpg

The city of Polaris, named after the north star, is a city in the northeastern side of the river.

Click to see the overview, and Polaris Airport.

The Polaris Airport is currently the only airport in the region. It serves as a minor hub for the region and brings in thousands of tourists, business contacts, and newcomers from around the world.

    Polaris-boat.jpg

    Polaris-steam.jpg

This is the steamboat that used to serve the passage between the river. However, since the completion of the Bridge, the steamboat's role grew redundant and was eventually converted to a restaurant. It now rests, albeit not quietly, at the Polaris docks, where thousands of guests visits her for a delightful Zärin themed cuisine.

    Polaris-church.jpg

The Polaris Church, completed in 1599, stands as an important landmark for Polarisans of the memories of their ancestors.

    Polaris-dock.jpg

Most of the leisure boats that make Polaris her home docks at the Polaris Marina. The Marina rests at the heart of downtown and is a convenient walk from any commercial establishments.

    Polaris-wharf.jpg

The Wharf is a tourist attraction. From fresh fish to excellent seafood dishes, the wharf opens at 3am for prospective seafood buyers from restaurants from around the region, and 10am when the tourists arrive to taste the local delicacy.

    Polaris-fishing.jpg

The fishing port is a lifeline for the fishing industry in Polaris. This is the only place where fishing boats of all shapes and sizes can have their systems checked and their boats docked.

    Polaris-ferry.jpg

The Polaris Ferry Terminal connects Polaris to cities around the region. At the ferry terminal, all the major Polarisan attractions are within a 5 min walk radius.

    Polaris-fire.jpg

"Polarisans should be responsible for their actions" is the response the mayor of Polaris gave when this condominium burned to the ground last night. "If I have to personally dispatch a fire truck every time someone's cat is up a tree, I won't have time to do anything else. It should be the Fire Chief that respond to the fire."

aaglo - thank you very much for the comments.

TmiguelT - Thank you for the encouragement.

jacqulina - hello jac! Thank you for your support.

Teeparex - Thank you for your comments.

Petrovar Ambassador - Thank you for your enthusiasm.

That's a beautiful marina Tempest, that looks very well done!

It's serene, calm, blends very well.

Maybe don't develop so close to the water like that, leave some room for the beach unless you're going to build a waterfront.

Archean  That’s a good idea, and I often have the same problem myself, developing too close to the water’s edge… but at least my apartments don’t catch on fire... 3.gif

I liked the farms, though I think the rail bridge could have been better placed.

Great rural towns and coastline though, the eyecandy is working nicely for this CJ.

    MERAK

    Merak

(Click to view the full size photo)

This little town was founded at least 100 years ago by Sir Francis Merak. His crew were in a search for new lands and after a landing, he made this site his new base of operation, after he discovered an abundance of resources around the area.

    Church

The Merakan Church is the primary worship place in the city. It was built by the order of Merak to celebrate the founding of Merak. It also looks over the Merak cemetery, located just outside of the town limit.

    shoppin'

The Merak shopping center is the only large-scale shopping area in town. It is home to 40 different stores, ranging from your small-scaled drug stores, to a larger department store. It also houses a professional center, where Merakan can visit there local clinic, or the dentist.

    west

Merak is home to people of different backgrounds. From the agricultural specialists, to the top of the tier CEOs.

    ferry

The Zarin Ferry Company has ferry services that connects Merak to adjacent towns of Polaris and Den'enth. It's efficient, and very friendly. However, after the opening of the Northern Highway, less people found this idyllic method of travel to Polaris redundant.

    STRANGE RELICS

    Merak-relics1.jpg

    Merak-relics2.jpg

A number of mysterious markings to the north of Merak has recently been found by a local rancher who was looking for his missing sheep. Local archaeologist Tony Baboon said that the markings does seem to hold a significance in marking the location of something. "It is definitely manmade. However, we still have yet to discover its true identity, and its history." Currently, his team of archaeologist are trying to found out if the relics does hold knowledge, or is just a hoax some ancient tribes had set up.
