as for the game.exe issue if u are using Vista this could be related to admin rights or Aero theme, try disabling the aero theme and or run as admin.

The Aero problem was a known issue with various other games

Personally i run XP Pro x32, Vista Ultimate x64 and atm i'm permanently on Windows 7 x64 final pre-release.

can't say about XP or Vista atm til i test but on Windows 7 only error i get is login doesn't work beyond that i dunno yet

an exe stopped responding issue is probably not related to a corrupt file so re-downloading won't achieve anything.

Check the pre-requisites I seem to remember it saying u need Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 and Net Framework 1.1 installed, with Vista and beyond Net Framework below version 2 is not installed by default

also Vista users need SP1 and XP users need SP3 Try that then you might get to the invalid login issue
