Problems with map elevations

I am new to this so I am sorry if this problem has already been discussed. Tried to find an answer but couldnt.

After downloading a number of maps from the website, I let the rendering start. When this is finished the map elevations are all wrong. For example, the areas that are suppose to be sea, become flat land, the areas that are suppose to be low hills become snow capped mountains.

I do not know what has caused this. Can anyone please help.

Thanks

That is a really strange bug. It looks like it rendered everything right, but that the ImportScaleFactor went haywire on some of the city tiles...

Unfortunately, my only suggestion would be to try to render it again.

I'm having the same problem with the past two maps i downloaded. The LA map i rendered looks like the middle of the himalayas.

I had that problem one time as well, and it was because of the Cycledogg terrain mod. When I had rendered the map with the mod, the terrain was to low. Then I rendered it again without the mod and then the map was fine! Do you guys have a terrain mod too?

I have the columbus mod installed and have no trouble importing regions, but you need to make sure that you have the CP_ColumbusPlayTerrainParameters.dat installed, but not CP_Columbus_HighTerrainImportParameters.dat or CP_Columbus_LowTerrainImportParameters.dat.

Hope that helps...

Oh, I must have had that Low terrain import parameter in the plugins folder, thanks.

I have also had these problems with, my maps and the rest of the map squad's maps. The only way I saw a fix to thiswas to uninstall SC4 and remove all the Simcity folders from your computer and re=install. It then work fine for me without the mods.
