im curious to know how big the STEX is at the moment? how many GB or TB is the entire STEX?

im curious to know how big the world's biggest SC4 collection is at present.

There's just over 13,000 uploads on the STEX at the moment. Average size of an upload, maybe 1.5mb? That'd put the total size of the STEX at about 19,500mb, we'll round that off to 20GB.

Assuming 10 MB per upload, it would be 130 GB. Of course, it is probably a wild overestimate, but it does place an upper bound on the STEX size.

May I ask why the STEX is so slow? I am certain that it isn't my Internet Connection. I have been trying to download the "ACB VLT Terminals and Jets Series 1 part 2" by ace_bovenopdeberg for a couple days and the Internet program I use, Google Chrome, says it takes about three or four hours to download. This .zip file is only 8.8 MB!!! Can anyone help or give me a reason why the STEX is slow?

I think its a good sign that so many people are still interested.  It may be a bit annoying to wait for large files, but the improvements they bring are often worth it.
