CXL Fansite?

 Hey guys,

I was just thinking when replying to someone in the official CXL forums about fansites. I was just thinking that, well since single player users can't have their own city journals on the official site, and since Simtropolis is mainly about Sim City, will it be possible for the guys here at Simtropolis to do a sister site for Cities XL? Like, maybe TropolisXL? Or something?

On the website, we could share our creations, write city journals, and also upload custom content as an alternative to uploading it on the official site if we can't.

Simtropolis has been mainly focused on Simcity 4 but Simtropolis is rapidly becoming a city sim website encompassing all games in the genre instead of just Simcity. Its something we need to do to stay relevant as a website, due to the lack of new, relevant, Simcity projects.

You can already see this trend. We're covering CitiesXL news, visiting the studio for a play through and keeping a forum open for pre-release discussion. As the game approaches I'm sure you'll see more information about CitiesXL posted right here on Simtrop. Rest assured that all accommodations for CitiesXL will be rolled out when we better understand what its specific needs will be.

Simtropolis is publisher agnostic, we will cover any and all city building games regardless of where they come from. To what depth we decide to cover them will most likely depend on the level of interest from the community as a whole.

If Cities XL really does well i think Simtropolis focus will change to Cities XL thats not to say it wont cater for SC4 because SC4 will still be in the background but wont feature as much as it use to. Cities XL is a new sim and if people like it then it should feature prominently on the web site just like SC4 has for many years.

Do you think that the Simtropolis website will be split into 2 or something? And what of the rest of the community like SC4Devotion?

A full Cities XL community will never thrive due to MC's opposition of custom content due to PO.
