Will the Game be ported to Mac?

I was reading through the FAQ on the official Cities XL site and it says the game will first be released for XP and Vista. Does this mean that the game will eventually be ported onto Mac or will it stay on microsoft.  I'm not going to bootcamp my mac so don't mention it.

Thanks

Hi John,

As mentionned in the FAQ, we will first release the game on Windows XP and Vista.

However, it doesn't mean we will never port it to Mac. Actually we would love to 4.gif

You know, we are a small studio and we must focus our efforts into one single platform to make sure the game runs smoothly and with as many features as we can on release to bring a many players as possible.

If we are successful enough with it, then we will consider seriously porting the game to Mac.

Cheers,

Thanks I really appreciate you responding.

Hopefully it will be a success so I will see it on Mac because I WILL buy it.

    Thanks again

Will It be ported to Linux?

In linux, you can get updates easier and you could make it like an apt you can download or buy, not like direct 2 drive, but with what we call apt repositories.

    (I smell open source)

I lurk and STEX mostly, but have been loving following the development of Cities XL - here's another vote for a Mac port. I would buy it on Day One.

Philippe, have you guys considered going to Transgaming for their Cider portability engine? Surely that'd be cheaper than porting the game itself.

I heard that CodeWeavers also does ports for Windows-only software: see here.  (not entirely sure about 3D games though)

I'd also not hesitate for a second if you made a Linux port 4.gif I'll still probably buy it for Windows (assuming my hardware can handle it good enough), but a Linux version down the road would be AMAZING 9.gif

Another Mac buyer on day one. Too bad they can not afford, or do the same thing EA did with the Sims 3. It was both a Mac and PC CD, that plays for both computer systems, no problem.

I guess we can only hope that it will eventually make its way to Mac
