Problem With NAM

I am not new to SC4(RH), but now that I have my Mac I thought I would start playing again.  I just recently added the newest version of NAM.  I reboot SC4 and all of my traffic is pedestrians.  I do have buses and freight trucks, but now I can't build enough Mass Transit because no one will drive their own cars.

I tried making the commute longer thinking it would force them to drive.  Nope, they just got the suitcase over the houses.  I also tired taking away road and avenue connections and only have highways with the same outcome of unemployment.

Has anyone else had this problem before?  Is there something I need to do to the NAM files to make it work?

Any suggestions would be great.

Thanks in advance

spinecharmer, welcome to Simtropolis!

At any rate, it sounds like when you selected a Traffic Plugin, you selected one of the "Park and Ride" versions.  (The file name has a "P" on it).  You'll want to either switch to a non-Park and Ride version, or build parking lots.

Hope that helps!

Sounds like you have a plug-in conflict for the network changes. You can easily fix it using the NAM tool for Mac (located in the LEX at SC4D https://www.sc4devotion.com/csxlex/lex_filedesc.php?lotGET=1912), then answer the simple questions and it will audit the NAM plug-ins, or simply make sure you have only ONE Traffic Plug-in within ~/Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins/NAM/Plugins.

Thank you both for you advice and your welcoming. I figured it couldn't be that hard. I had all of the Traffic Controllers still in there. I took the ones I didn't use and just put them in a different folder away from the SC4 folders. Do I need to keep them (other than if I change my mind for) or can I just throw those away?

There's no need to keep the files that you aren't using (unless of course, you change your mind, but you can just redownload in that case).

You also might want to check to make sure that you don't have multiple automata plugins installed, though I don't think this would as drastically affect the game.

And I can see I'm a little late on this (21.gif), but welcome to Simtropolis!
