Hey, I am a newbie to this forum, so don't bash 3.gif

Anyway, I have an avenue in my city. On one side, it says the volume is high in the morning, on the other in the evening. Logical, in the morning Sims go to work, in the evening they come back. What baffles me however, is that on one side, it says that there are over a 1000 cars, while on the other side perhaps 30. How is that possible? Shouldn't they equal?

It's not exactly logical, I would result in a corpulent amount of cars on one piece of road in my latest city.

P.S. - let's just say over 500

Do you use one way roads anywhere along any of these resident's routes?

Tornadoli... Wlecome to ST...

Well, unless I'm misunderstanding your question, your situation does make sense since each side of an avenue goes in one direction (like a one-way). In your example, the 1000 is the morning rush hour traffic going the same direction to the jobs. The 30 is the lighter traffic going the other direction on the other side. Same with the evening traffic, only sides will be flipped.

If this is not what you're referring to, just ignore my rambling...

When you use the route query tool, a box opens in the upper right corner with a colorful key that indicates types of traffic. At the bottom of that box is a little thing (For lack of a better term) that allows you to switch the route query between morning and evening traffic. Its settings might affect the traffic report from the route query tool, although I've only noticed it changing the arrows and lines. Hope this helps.

he default view is for morning commute times, so you will have 1000 mainly going to work, with 30 which just happen to be going to other way in the morning.

Click to change it to evening commute and you'll now get 1000ish going in the direction that originally had 30, and probably 30 in the direction which had 1000.

    Aha thanks Guys!

But the Morning and Evening commutes will still go on, even though it is only day in my Sim City? The Day and Night Cycle is purely aesthetics, right?

Yes they'll still carry on. The day/night cycle continues regardless of what daylight setting you have on. Just think of it as living in the arctic circle in summertime 4.gif
