Problem with official site

Hey,

when I download any lots from the official SimCity site, it says download completed into the Simcity, Plugins folder but when I open it the files are not there and my computer can't find them. They don't come as hidden files, I've already tried that. The funny thing is that when I try to download it again it says that the file already exists.

More or less the same thing happens when downloading the latest patch. It says patch download completed but when I go into the official update site again, it only detects the old version. It seems as though things appear to download from the official site but they don' really. Why is that?

By the way, I don't have any problems downloading from Simtropolis or anything of the sort. My computer is in Spanish (but I don't think that has anything to do although it might give the site trouble when looking for the "My Documents" folder) and my version of the game is Rush Hour.

Thanks

Try downloading the files to a different location, such as your desktop. The stuff from the official site auto-installs into the proper directory anyway, so you don't have to worry about where you download it to.

Some ot the landmarks, and other files download to the Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4\Plugins folder. If you can't see them you may need to select more options in the Windows Explorer view options.

Do you use internet explorer? If you do, add the main site to trusted sites. This disables protected mode, which SHOULD fix the problem you have. I had this problem, and adding it to trusted sites fixed it. Hope this helps!
