Growables to Ploppables

Hello everybody,

I've recently started using Lot Editor and have become fairly proficient with it. The problem is that I'm limited to buildings that are either available as ploppable already or that are props that can fit over actual ploppable buildings. I would like to make some of my growable lots ploppable but I'm running into some problems. I've been going through and following SimGoober's tutorial on making functional landmarks fairly well. The problem is that when I go to iLive Reader and try to open the building I get a message saying, "Failed to open...(whatever I'm opening."

What am I doing wrong?

Hi, MCO1254,

It's great that you took the initiative to find the tutorial and try it out.  I'm definitely not an expert on the Reader, but the simplest thing I can think of is that Reader will not open a file if Lot Editor or the game is running.  You may also need to adjust some of the options of the Reader.  This is covered in the Reader Guide, which, IIRC, was included in the download.  If not, it should be in the Modds section.  I'd just read through that really carefully to see if everything is enabled.  I hope you can find the solution.

Thanks for the feedback Livin in Sim. I'll go through the guide one more time to see f everything is set up the way it's supposed to be.
