I downloaded  new trees from cycledogg and when I want to plant trees on the whole map the show only in some parts of the map. Why is that so and how can I fix it? I give you a picture of this situation.

I'm not completely sure, but it could be your graphics. If you have it set to a low level for this sort of thing, they won't appear in zoom levels one and two. Try changing them to a higher level and it may solve the problem. I won't guarantee anything.

Could be due to the terrain mod you are using and the type of tree. Terrain mods are sometimes created to allow certain flora to grown at certain elevations. Might try a different mod or change terrain to see if something grows. Hope this helps...

I think you're onto something, CaptCity.  I tried out all of cycledogg's tree controllers and this looks like the behavior of a tree controller for rivers (Meadowshire or Italia), as opposed to the coastal versions.  Moisture level, as well as elevation, can cause different trees to seed.  The terrain itself will change as the year progresses (zoom or rotate the view every three months or so to refresh the terrain texture).  As a result of this, you can get different species of trees in the exact same tract of land at different times of the Sim year.  That level of detail really amazes me.  To test it, plant some trees on part of a blank city tile in January and note what kind they are, then bulldoze them, run the simulator until about June, then plant more trees in the same area and they should be different.  This is particualrly true for the west edge of the map for some reason.

@rose12 -- try one of the other tree controllers such as the Olympic version and let us know how that turns out.  BTW, please keep image sizes at or below 800 x 600 pixels.

I hope this is helpful

Mike

Zimfy...

Brown boxes means you probably didn't get all the dependencies for the mod to work. Check the download instructions or a Readme file for the dependencies required. As for planting a large group of trees, try planting them in God Mode. Use ctrl+alt+shift then click the God Mode button. That will give you the God Mode tools that you can use in the city while in Mayor Mode. Also, I thought Cycledogg's trees could be planted by holding the mouse button down and dragging (could be wrong, though). This will continue placing trees as long as you hold the button rather than clicking one at a time. Hope this helps...

Sounds like CapCity is right. You probably just downloaded a few of CP's trees and need to DL the other species in other packs to get full coverage. It looks like you simply don't have the other trees needed to cover the higher elevations, and none show up.

Cycledogg's are classics and he's just released a new set of seasonal trees. Peg's seasonal woods are classics too. Also Simfox did a spectacular set but they're not seasonal.
