I have Aspyr's SC4: Deluxe. My game operates well, but I'm having a couple visual issues. My waves, clouds, and smokestacks get "grainy" sometimes. Minor issue I can ignore. The major issue is everything zoned or developed has a black dashed line border around it. It gives gridlines to everything, and while I can ignore it in zoned areas, my farms, beaches, and soccer fields look like crap. Not to mention the beach pieces I have just started playing with. I have tried adjusting the graphics options in every conceivable combination as well as selecting software rendering, which my computer will not let me do anyway. I saw a similar thread and downloaded and installed the patch, but nothing changed. The patch was from Aspyr to upgrade to version 1.1. The only plug in I have is Homer's beach set. Thanks for your help! Hey all,

How do you go about adding graphics rules for other video cards? I have a MacBook Pro with an ATI Radeon X1600 256MB video card. I have tried the updated graphics files, but none seem to fix the terrible graphics/texture glitches that have appeared since applying the last few 10.5 updates.

In addition to road textures appearing in clouds and zoned areas as others have reported, I am having an issue where the game displays a large road piece (maybe 4 or 5 tiles in width) in place of where the normal mouse cursor should be. It really makes the game unplayable. For the record, this is a new install straight from the DVD without any patches, mods, or other changes.

Thanks for any tips.

^ I think your may be more related to 10.5 than the card. With card issues one usually has dissolving cars are waves with spots of transparency. The file I provided fixes that on specific cards.

I've updated my Graphics Rules file and while it helps to some degree with the clouds and smoke problem, I'm now having a large number of problems related to textures. For example, I will zone an area, and instead of being the color, it will be show an RHW-2 tile in each tile colored to match the zone.

Ya, I get that too at times.

What is really annoying is that many of these issue do not develop right away, they come after some game play time. Is that true for others?

Yea, some of them seem to come on the longer I play. But often go away if I rotate the map. However, some textures, like on the base of buildings won't change. I'm going to do a little experimenting when I get access to the computer again and compare the problems between the PPC version of SC4DE and the Universal Patch version (as I have both) and see if there is really a difference, aside from the Traffic lines being screwed up.

Well....

I tried playing with the Universal version of SC4DE and the problems I was having with the PPC version went away... for the most part. The waves under the bridges, and waves under the cursor were still grainy, but everything else seemed better. Although instead of the ground level textures having problems like on the PPC version, once in a while the textures of a build would be wrong... or once a farm was wrong. I'm going to try some more tests.

Guys I'm having all these issues too, dissolving cars, roads in the sky, zones land not always correct, buildinds that appear out of nowhere I don't about 10.5 and all that. I have installed NAM and some things off STEX, but if had this since installing the game. Can you let me know which patch will help. Thanks
