Terraforming

I am wondering what you prefer, SC4 Terraformer, The In-Game Terraformer, or Building from scratch with Photoshop or another program, or a mix.

i use the sc4 terraformer when i start a region to get the overall layout, then when i get finished with that and want to landscape and build cities i use the in game tools to refine what i want my areas to look like

Interesting question, gamezrule44.

Depending upon the mood I'm in, the phase of the moon or what I'm trying to accomplish, I'll do any of the following:

Hand-draw a map and scan it in.

Use Terragen to  create a terrain.

Use World Machine to create a terrain.

Use a combination of both Terragen and World Machine to create a terrain.

Use Wilbur to create a terrain.

Use Paint Shop Pro or PhotoShop to create a terrain.

Use SC4Terraformer to create a terrain.

Finally, regardless of the original method used, I always use SC4Terraformer to completely finish my maps.

I leave the in-game terraforming tools to the person downloading and using the map.

I prefer in-game tools for all the tedious work, while for the large, less detailed projects i use SC4Terraformer.

I write my own terraforming program, or just use photoshop if i cba to code

Sometimes I terraform in "God" mode, sometimes I build regions from greyscale images in Picture Publisher.

I always use either fully handterraforming in godmode or very seldom download a map and then heavily transform it to my liking again in godmode.

Vandy.......World machine? you say....hm, never heard of it, got to google for it someday, sounds interesting.

At first I hated the in game tools, but now since ive put in hours of practice, i am quite good at it.  I like the amount of control it gives me.  Even when in Mayor Mode, if you hold down CTRL, SHIFT, ALT and press the GOD MODE button you can use them cost free.

I use the in game tools, since I never downloaded the terraformer or anything like it.
