What can I do?)

Hello, good afternoon:

You will see me down here for a map of NHP simtropolis called Matinenda:

Exactly this: https://www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm?id=18988&v=1

The problem is that by converting the image to grayscale terraformer I get something totally different from the original because the plains are represented in a darker tone in grayscale

I wonder if anyone can make this map as much as possible like the first image ... 2.gif I leave the grayscale guide4.gif

Thank you

Mi enlish nevel is pessim 15.gif

Hello, rumy-2.

If I understand you correctly, you've taken the .SC4M file from the Matinenda map and saved it out as a grayscale image.

If this is what you've done, be aware that the .SC4M file is 16-bit and any grayscale image saved out of SC4Terraformer is only 8-bit.  Consequently, you are going to lose much detailed "information" as to the height map information for the map.  Any map you try and render from the grayscale image WILL NOT look like the original.

Regards,

Vandy

I think you took the sc4mapper colored preview pic and saved it as grayscale to import it to sc4 "by hand"

that will never work.

you should read the readmes first. read carefully and try again.

OK I fixed it but the only flaw is the configuration SC4M you will see the config (which determines whether it is small, medium or large) default map is all blue and do not like change: S

    How can I do ...

PS: I tried changing the save after entering the region but the region did not recognize it and left me green, I tried to enter and get the same green

    Hello, rumy-2.

Make sure you understand the relationship between your grayscale image and the config.bmp file.  For example, if you have a grayscale image that has the dimensions of 1025 x 1025 pixels, then your config.bmp file must be 16 x 16 pixels.  The actual formula is shown below:

    (grayscale image width - 1) / 64 = config.bmp width

    (grayscale image height - 1) / 64 = config.bmp height

    likewise,

    (config.bmp width * 64) + 1 = grayscale image width

    (config.bmp height * 64) +1 = grayscale image height

It would be a good idea for you to read through the following articles in the OmniMaps section of the Omnibus:

Creating Area Strip Maps and Multiple SC4 Regions

       (The first section)

Config.bmp: How to Make it Yours

    Good luck.

    Regards,

    Vandy
