Tree Controllers Plant (Tons Of) Maxis Pines

Hi, everyone, hope you're having a great holiday season.

I have used most of Cycledogg/c.p.'s wonderful God Mode tree controllers, Olympia, Meadowshire, Missouri Breaks, etc.  On 70% of the terrain, they plant what is shown in pictures, and it looks great.  But no matter which one I use, particularly in dry, high elevation areas, they always plant solid Maxis pines.  I don't find this very attractive, and end up trying to bulldoze most of them, which is a pain.  I always thought it was normal until this happened with the Missouri Breaks mod as well.  From what the pictures of this show, there are supposed to be large open areas with this one.  But it is filling in the Maxis pines there as well.  I am using it with the corresponding terrain mod, as I think that can affect what is planted, correct?  Or is it just elevation?  Could it be that I have a conflict?  I am careful to follow instuctions, but I might have overlooked something.  Does anyone have any thoughts about this?  Does it happen for you?

Thanks for your help.

Hmm, I get that too with my terrain mod and controller (both cycledogg). I think you might just have to use mayor mode trees for higher elevations. It's what I usually do, although I rarely reach heights that high, so it has never really bothered me.

Chris.

I also found the dull Maxis pines a little out of place next to the beautiful models by Cycledogg.  I was looking over his palm and oak replacement mods and preparing to make my own for the pines, but it seems Andreas Roth has read our minds!  He has released a complete Maxis tree replacement mod here at the LEX.  I have just downloaded it, but I haven't tested it yet.  From the description, it sounds as though I can delete my existing Cycledogg tree replacement mods, as this takes care of everything... including God Mode trees!

Happy Holidays!

Thanks for the replies, TV-VCR and ArchangelMichaelHere is the link to the same topic I posted over at SC4D, and I was indeed talking with Andreas about it.  He suggested a work around, and I didn't have time to try it, but he didn't say anything about this mod coming out.  I was on the SC4D LEX just a bit ago, and I saw it.  What a nice surprise!  (Those folks like to do that, don't they?)  Thanks to Andreas.  44.gif  It sounds like it will work for everything, and solve my problem, sweet.

    Enjoy the game.
