Plop or grow

Good Day,

I just played SC4 Deluxe for just few months and not anyhow expert of it. I have read some great topics from this site and i found some question i really need to ask. But first to all who did the city journals, you are the best. I have never seen such beautiful artwork. And for this site, this is the coolest SC4 site i have ever seen.

My questions are:
1. Do you all use ploppable lots like residential / commercial lots when creating your city? This is because I have seen in many city journals there were many similar units (eg residential hse) which in a way made the city look cool / great. But as I know, when I zoned it, it will not grow into similar residential hse but different houses with same R$ or R$$ or R$$$.  
 
2. As for commercial lots, correct me if I'm wrong, one can plop it right? It can be plop by downloading units from this site, or using RH Ploppable Final (choosing the commerical lots). It will not go abandon in a way from my observation as it acts to attract sims to work. As compared to ploppping residential lots onto unzoned land, it will become abandon or no job zots as i read, some said due unable to connect to transit system. This is why it needs to plop onto a zoned land, right?

3. When you all making your own city journals, do you take into account of the population if you plop both residential and commercial lots? I meant just design the city in the most creative way without zoning but plopping and no abandon or dilipadate if one uses the no abandon and dilipadation mods plugins. I seen some said that they did a mixture ie plopping and growing by zoning it but my question is that do anyone plopp all the way

Plopped lots will become dilapidated or abandoned if there is not enough demand to support them

You can get modds that will help you get the right demand to plop them. I have plopped commercial before but not residential
