Stage 8 Buildings

I've been able to get pretty much all the buildings in sim city 4 except a few stage 8 buildings? Have all of you been able to get all the stage 8 buildings? Also, how did you do it?

Most of my plots are 6x6 squares - zoned 3 wide... could this be the issue?

Hello, and welcome to the community.

Patience is key. Eventually you will get these buildings will grow, as long as all the needs are met (search the omnibus for details). If you can't get some of them to grow no matter what, make sure the you have all tilesets turned on (New York, Chicago, Houston, and Euro).

Thanks for the quick reply. I have all the tilesets on right now. I was able to get some of the stage 8 buildings to go up tonight by rezoning and making large sized zones (4 deep). Here's a screenshot of the current city I'm trying to build up:

Wow, that's one organized city! It looks a little too late for this, but you should probably have some avenues... And yes, 4x4 zones will allow a lot of new buildings to come up. What's the population (just wondering).

Another factor that helps is placing a fair amount of large plazas (lm effect 80 over 15 tiles). This was the deciding factor I think when a developed the region of Berlin back a 2005 and got it to over 11milliom. I would put the 3x3 plazas in the middle of a 11x12 block. Since you are already built up squeezing some small ones in where you can is a idea. There are some nice buildings out now that have a large landmark effect. You can replace some of your buildings with these. They give a nice look to your city and don't leave a big hole that a ground level plaza does.
