Newbie in need of help!

Hi guys, I'm just starting to get into SC4 and I'd like to know if there's any essential mods I really can't do without. I've been reading about quite a bit and it appears the NAM is quite popular. I downloaded the april release (or re-release) but it crashed my game so I uninstalled it. Should I try to fix this or is this mod not a big deal?

One thing I'd like to have mods for is transit. In particular some better choice over roads/streets. Is there anything around for this you could point me in the direction of?

The NAM is the #1 "must-have" mod. Crashes are known, especially with the GLR (Ground light rail) components, but you can avoid nearly all crashes if you read the included readme.

Another great place to look for "must-have" content is the "popular" and "highest rated" tabs on the Simtropolis Exchange. Some of the very best custom content can be found there.

The Rural Highway Mod is a good mod for transit.

Get the CAM. I think that you can get it here but I'm not sure so try www.sc4devotion but you may have to sign-up to download it.
