Hi,

How do I get larger citys? Like those large areas I was used to have in SC3000... to build a metropolis like city... and not just a large town...

A mix of lots of things i'd say. Erm, good planning and transport. Don't zone high density from the start. Build way out before you start to go up but make sure your infrastructure is good. To advance to a metropolis city try to make you population as clever as possible. I don't know, there's no single answer.

Then again, i'm not the best person for advice. I've had the game since it came out and my biggest town has 700 000.

Also, make sure you have multiple cities in your region. When cities are interconnected with other cities, they all benefit.

Think history wise- New York City wasn't always a megalopolis. Neither was Los Angeles. Phoenix is the best example of that. It helps me to incorporate history into my cities- grow them the way they would have grown according to history. Just keep on growing, set population goals. However, just following history alone won't work. You need a good transportation network, some education and health, power, water, and so many other things. There is no easy way to get a megalopolis. It might help your patience to add a little custom content- which city would you rather work on? A boring vanilla city, or a beautiful field of custom content?

I have a region of about 2.5 million. I started out with a central city surrounded by 6 cities with low density. Then increased the density in each city. And when growth stopped, i added 3 more cities, and so on.
