For a few months  now,(actually since Last summer)  I have been collecting screenshots of  the wonderful world Nexis of Genesis.-Also the story that goes with it.

This won't be  just a story, sit down and attach your seatbelts......This will be the Adventure of NEXIS!https://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/6.gif>

Carefully thought over since monthshttps://community.simtropolis.com/assets/emoticons/16.gif> and having taken notes here and there, we will all witness the Birth of not only Nexis, but much more.....

 

Believe me, it will be so different and so dramatizing that you all will be waiting for the next episode unpatiently.There will be joyful and sad moments, and very disappointing and shocking moments too.Nexis will enjoy and break your heart, all at the same time.

 

Check out this thread in the next days.......This is where it will all start....life in its own story.

In the Beginning.....825 Billion years ago and far far away......

The Planet of Genesis was formed by a violent collision of two giant  Meteors ,containing a lot of ice, nearby the sun of Solaris and the Planet Uru (with already some primitive lifeforms.)

 

Here it all started..............

After many years of explosions,rumbling fires etc, the ice of the Meteors, which has melted with the heat coming from Solaris, has covered the planet entirely with water and calmed down the wild heat of the Fireball. It was just like a Dark Blue Pearl in the Universe.

 

Genesis was born.

It's funny because I was just thinking about creating a region that suposidly on anouther planet and place it in this random Galaxy I'm making .

Although the planet was very quiet for many years, the never resting core made its first move to pierce the outer crust and start deforming Genesis again.This time over the water.

While being warmed by Solaris,an somewhat athmosphere has developed.

 

.....and one could swear to have seen some sort of clouds.........

These first pics are nice.  This idea of building a city on another planet is original.

I can't wait for the actual city.....

In these last 240 Billion years, the beginning of a continent,as one might called it, was evident on the Dark blue Pearly Planet.

On Uru, the neighboring planet, life has become forming in thousands of shapes and somehow  an intelligent lifeform is developping in the form of Homo Urulius, later called , sims.

While their evolution was advancing in their own way, Genesis was busy forming land all over the Planet,changing this world forever.The forces to do this were enourmous and horrifying. Volcanoes errupting here and there, filling the air with the smell of sulphor. It happened everywhere, as if the planet was alive inside.

......and as if this wasn't enough, what was already happening on the surface and the inner core, the planet was bombarded with Meteors.

This looks really kewl, you are the first person to ever start your city journal like this. Literally from the start of time. Very interesting. I love your lots and I love the pics of your regions in the past so I am really looking forward to your city journal.

The harsh environnement was spitting smoke and steam into the Atmosphere for many of thousands of years. Also the water heated with all this activity, plus the Giant sun of Solaris.

 

 

With the Meteors came some very primitive Lifecells, frozen in time and somehow, some have survived and revived with the ideal conditions in the warm water.

While the Atmosphere was forming with gases of unknown composition, the water started to live around the Hot springs and volcanic activity.

On Planet Uru, the Urulians have started to live in communities and learned how to build huts and live in smaller villages.Every night they gather and look at the dark blue Planet in their sky, being amazed by its size and beauty..........The curiosity in Simkind had awakened...........

Back on Genesis, the planet is busy like never before.Islands have risen in the sea, one beside the other, and clouds of evaporated water and dust have been formed in the sky.Soon there will be Landmasses covering the sea and a new Era will begin..........

This reminds me a lot of SimEarth. I think Maxis should remake SimEarth and SimTower. Two classics that could easyly make a comeback.

 

I cant wait to see the newly formed sims to start building their first low-tech cities.

holy cow, nice journal...little bit of Star Trek, little bit of Tarkovsky, little bit of...argh...i know i know Uru from something, but can't think about it. the formation of the planet/region and its lifeforms is also quite realistic.

As one can see, 52 Billion years ago, the first Landform has started.The sea is less deep and landmasses are rising above the sealevel. Also the harsh environnement has calmed, the water is warm, and lifecells spreading from one corner to the other, always in search of finding better and more suitable places.But...........

 

......the calm is still disturbed once in awhile by some eruptions and meteors.....and the worst is still to come, once the landmasses are formed and absorb the heat from Solaris, without a real protection from the atmosphere,which hasn't quite formed yet.It could be catastrophic for the few life forms.

The first lifeforms have made it to the above sea level too and have adapted to the environnemet that nothing else tolerates.Green of colour, the first plant life took form.

.....this is another beginning and era of Genesis.....Life......

Some places, as in the north of Genesis, the water has frozen and formed into snow and ice, because of the lack of the amount of sun that it receives daily.Another challenge for the ever struggling life.

Just like lichen growing slowly on rocks, island were merging into continents,leaving Landmasses that covered more than half the planet.-Of course with this, the ground was warming up and soon it became a haven for green primitive plantlife, struggling to compete in the hash environnement.

 

Still raging forces of all kinds were dominent on the planet.

Meanwhile, Urulians on the neighbor planet, have been settling all over the planet and their Civilization has started.

As we all know, once life has set its foot somewhere, you can't get rid of it anymore.And this is about to happen here on Genesis,covering the masses of land with plantlife and smaller animal life.

The story goes on............until next week.

Oh man i can't believe u have all that patience to work with terraforming...usually i m so enthusiastic about building my city that i get very fed up when i have to mess with my terrain...beautiful work and i look forward to your next post

For the green not to show is easy, all you have to do is raise the land as high as possible and do not get too close when taking pics.

 

I would like to add , that the Cities of Nexis have been done since June 04, and all these pics have either been taking before or some afterwards in a different region, so to give it more story. This whole project has been planned since last summer and now, since I have several Cities over 800K,I think it is time to make the Story of Nexis come to the Journal.

Here is just a small sample of what is to come, but it'll be in a couple of Million years.Sorry....................

I would like to explain.

Nexis of Genesis.

Genesis is a Planet in the Solaris System (together with Uru and Mahoon), and Nexis is a region of that Planet.

 

Nexis is also a City,a part of City and many Cities, towns and villages together.

It has over 240 unique lots (Nexis lots), some slightly over 100 found on the LEX.Also over 80 of downloaded lots from you guys/gals.

 

I have been playing with it, ever SC4 came out(March 2003) somewhat of an average of 4 to 6 hours a week.Never stopped and never got tired of it.

Right now Nexis is in its Future, beyond the simple City living.(you have to wait and see).

Years go downcount until the year of 0, which will be the year of Nexis,after the years go upcounting, just like here on earth(maybe we have some connection with them).

The region consists of 120 Cities, quite a big map!But only 4 of them are over 500K.Most of them are small rural communities and some towns.Some have Natural Reserves, that means : No Touch!!

The region itself again is divided into smaller regions, such as a mountain range, rivervalley,lake and others (still secret)

I won't give away the futur of Nexis, but don't worry, you will be spoiled with ideas ,happenings,landscapings,city building and pictures.

Imagine, I have been working on this for several months now.---

---One thing though: I have NEVER prepared anything in that game.That means from the start of Terraforming and also City building.Everything was just done and created as it came, along with my ideas.

Edit: Btw, I have been reading some of the Journals eversince they started, some are darn good,some need more imagination.-I wanted to offer something different in my Journal(not better, just different)  something that everyone wanted to follow  and make them wonder.......why...when....what....and how?????

Well, I had some time tonight, so here it continues............

 

In a few million years we can see the changes it has brought to the continent and also the plantlife. Now  trees are growing everywhere, but still dependant on being close to the waters.

That changed with the years too and soon after , even hills had some plantlife growing.

The fight to survive continued.............as soon some were grown, others were destroyed......

On Uru, people have learned to create tools and learned how to live off the land and its treasures.Productions have started and Urulians are working to have a better lifes.Questions are asked and answers not always found.Curiosity has risen.The modern era has started..........

 

Genesis is quiet for the moment and developping like any other living planet.Some other lifeforms were born and soon animals will roam the plains and forest of the New World.

Maybe this time the Perfect World........................

Many years have passed and Tranquility has become a part of Genesis.The planet has finally calmed down.Earthmasses have developed into continents and continents into regions,like this here picture of a region, we will call : NEXIS

Regions with beautiful lakes,rivers,forest,mountains and wildlife have been formed......

Green luscious forest have been growing on Genesis for many years now and animals life is making more and more their appearances too.It's a thriving world,rich in resources.

 Meanwhile on Uru, the first manned mission to outer space has made its first success.Dreams on going further have no limits now.

Their curiosity has only begun..........................

Ok Bison, you officially blew my mind. I was expecting one of the better city journals from you, but I never expected this. Hell of an effort.

 

I don't know if you can answer this yet, but I will ask. Obviously Uru has evolved a very intelligent species, so my question, did Genesis evovle its own intelligent life, or did the citizens of Uru colonize Genesis for its raw natural resources?

 

The answer may be down the road, but I had to ask.
