No road connection for landfills?

Simple question.

I re-installed the SC4 Deluxe plus a number of mods (such as the NAM Mod and the hole-diggers plot mod) after having not played it for about a year.

I can connect up power plants and water pumps to neighboring towns just fine, but for some reason almost anywhere I place a landfill, even if it's located on a road connected to a highway, I get a "no road connection" zot and the landfill doesn't work.  It doesn't matter if I place it in my original city or in a neighboring town for the purposes of exporting the garbage.

I find that kind of odd.  Any solutions?

I should also note that I've got the updated game patches installed and other than this landfill problem I'm noticing no other odd problems with the game.

Have you tried connecting the landfill zone to a road on more than one side?

I haven't tried that yet but I've never had to that before.

In the past all I've had to do is just plop down a landfill zone anywhere that's connected with roads, and I've even been able to do it in places where I built a 15-square street out from the road it connected to so the landfill would be away from other zones.

That's why I've found this problem a bit odd.

This is really odd (silly question but have you speeded up time and waited for a while, because like any other zone it always says that at first)

I get the same thing. I've found that if you surround the landfill zone on all four side with a road it works fine. What I do is make four 3x3 landfill sites and make a grid of road around them. Works fine for me that way.

I find that if I zone an area of landfill, the zot will appear. But if I drag a road/street one square onto the landfill the zot disappears. I know that you paid $10 to zone the land but some sacrifices must be made at times
