My GLR SUCKS!

Ok so I just started a new city that I'm building up slowly. And I want to put in a GLR in the center of the Business district while it's still pretty small. However, I try to get it through the city and it works great. But none of the roads connect over the GLR. I use the little piece that has a road cross thing, but it doesn't connect with the real roads and when I try to connect it, it goes red and says "can't place on top of reserved tiles". I really want to have this, because it's awesome. But, this is really ticking me off. 

What's wrong here? I need help in having a really nice transportation system, like i see in some of these CJ's.

A couple things come to mind... If I'm understanding your issue...

What version of NAM do you have installed? If the newest, then the GLR tracks should drag over the roads forming the crossing. And, likewise, roads will drag over the tracks (except for the starter piece). 

Are you trying to lay the tracks using a series of starter pieces. You don't need to do that. Just place a starter piece and use the regular ElRail tracks to drag away from the starter. Roads and such won't build across starter pieces. 

Have you ever had an older version of NAM installed. You may have older files that need to be deleted.
