Hi ppl .i'am new at posting ,but i was working in some projects , but now i don't have time to finish someone's... So ... I'am here to show u my models , and , to ask for someone who could help me . the models are almost complete , the problem is the textures , so if someone who know's how to work with textures , "texturing process " , tell me , send me a PM ,or an email , to finish the job and share to all comunity . Thank u ! So my first model is : Name : Rose Tower Location : Dubai , Sheikh Zayed Road. height : 333m , 72 story . It's underfull ... 2nd Name : Park Place Location : Dubai , Sheikh Zayed Road height : 234 m , 56 floor's THANK , and pleas HELP ME

    And i need some help , what color should i chose for the windows ?? based more or less on the real building ...

    Looks like you are using gmax. Its gonna be tough on you cause you got some big buildings there. Also your default cameras are bad the larger scenes need better cameras to deal with the building height. Use mine from the attach and overwrite the old ones - or back them up somewhere.

    If you are doing residential towers I suggest doing a lot of research on the 'look' of the building and how they are made. Some of my 1st couple buildings kinda sucked. But I learned a lot of neat tricks and tips along the way.

    One of the best ways to save time is to make a bunch of props like AC units and Ladders, and Pipes, and Doors and Chairs and save it as separate scene then mearge these items into your building scene as needed. Good luck!

    Tips on texturing:

    If you have a repeating tile texture its best to change the UVM Map to Box and set the parameters to all even numbers like 8 , 8 , 8. You may have to play around with the numbers a bit to make it look nice. For instance if the texture is a simple repeating square tile they can look nice if you set it to 4, 4, 4 if the floor height is 4 units high. If you set it to 5 - it might look out of place.

    For large peices of concrete I usually find several textures of concrete then play around in photoshop until I get a suitable image of color and concrete texture, problem with a lot of concrete textures is that they repeat terribly making the model look bad. To fix this I use a a nifty tool in the material editor > to make a Composite instead of a Standard Material, load your concrete texture in slot one, in slot two load another concrete texture, in the material parameters unroll the tab untill you see the output value and change it to 60 or 50. Render a test and play with the numbers a bit or switch the textures around.

    thanksss bixel 9.gifDD i will try to do everything that u said. i'am working in 3d max 3.gif, but , i prefer gmax render's lool , it's almost done , some more balconys , and textures bixel i think that u know , this is going to be a complex , GRAND WATERFRONT in Kowloon , the purple one

    Nice work! Very detailed, you are doing awesome and improving also... But, could you please use photobucket.com to link to your images, instead of using attachments? ST likes that more, plus we don't have to click on them. 2.gif

    Oh, and the file Bixel sent you, put it under C:\gmax\gamepacks\BAT\scenes\CamLightRigs.

    So here's a tip when doing HK Residentials.

    Get as much photo reference as you can. Also many of the new towers host website with complete floors plans available for download. One trick I do is to make the windows 1st and then arrange them according to both photo reference and the floor plans to ensure high accuracy. Here is an example
