Sim City White spot problem

ok ever time i play sim city i get thes white spots that come up i put a link to a screen shot of my white spot problem lol i need some help plz thx

when i took this picture i had no other windows up so its not other windows showing thro this happens all the time when i build all most any thig i do have mods intalled mostly mods from THIS site only tho so thx 4 the help

Well we know this is a graphics problem. Are you running vista? Particularly Aero? I am almost sure this will cause some kind of conflict with the in-game graphics. I am looking at the top part of the picture, and it looks like you are getting a message bubble from your OS, it looks to be antivirus...

I have Windows Xp i do not CURRENTLY haev any anti virus intaled becuz my pc got whiped out im gonna try to turn of windows fire wall and virus protection maby that will work thx!

What's your graphics card? What does dxdiag report (click on Run, then type in dxdiag)?

There was something in your dxdiag that struck my eye. Under your system information (right at the top), your installed memory shows only 2030MB RAM. This value should normally be 2048MB (at least my machine shows the full 2048MB), so you're missing 18MB.

Being not a hardware expert though, my advice is nonetheless that you check your RAM about errors. One possible testing program is memtest86.

(Btw: The message bubble complains about a missing antivirus program .)

Do you have the latest drivers, joelself? It seems you may still have the retail drivers that came with the card. You have driver version 6.14.0010.8340. The latest driver version is 7.15.0011.7824. Here's a download.

By the way, I seriously recommend you get some sort of antimalware suite (or standalone applications).

Here is a good free antivirus. It has detected quite a few viruses for me, but it only offers a very slim amount of protection.

Ah, good recommendation. It's also a good idea to have spybot run alongside AVG.

yea thx il geat the new drivers also i didnt have any ativirus becuse my pc got whiped out i have norton 360 i installed it about 25 mins ago ok i got more ram and that didnt seem to work so ill try the drivers thx
