I have this city that is about 2 million people that has a huge traffic problem

Anyway there are very few intersections, highways go north/south and avenues that go east and west with a ramp at each meeting. when i started the city i thought the traffic would be fine even without mass transit (i didn't want poor people in my city) but oviously i was wrong.

The zoning is like this

also my healthcare system is messed up (47,000*20=940,000) is that right?

Hello Ryan, I think that you failed to notice that the thing with mass transit is that richer people prefer el rail subway and monorail, while poorer sims prefer lest costly things such as Rail and Bus, however Middle Class and Poor Sims are perfectly fine with buses. Also remember that poorer sims are an important part of a city because most Commercial services need poor sims for lower paying jobs. Mass Transit always helps but if you prefer richer sims just use subways. There is nothing wrong with your infrastructure, but griddy citys always have sims that will choose an alley to get to work instead of using the highway.

I would suggest downloading the NAM Traffic Simulators. They increase the capacity of the transit networks and simulate the traffic patterns of vehicles better than the game.

Of course, you'll need the NAM. I hope I could help.

Mod: thanks for the move it probably belongs in the general discussion forum, i posted it in the city building concepts because it was similar to the grid experiment thread.

kj3400: there is no mass transit system on this city, the blocks are to big and putting in somthing like a bus or subway station would take up 4 squares not just one because it would need road access

I understand that, but the simulator affects road, avenue, and highway capacity as well as mass transit.
