How to increase demand for farms?

My goal with the region was to cover the entire land with farms, eventually developing the city clusters by reducing farmland. I was doing fine for about 4 cities, but then halfway through filling city #4's zoned farmland the demand fell through the floor. I-A is now the least demanded of any other zone. Any suggestions on how to boost the demand so I can finish zoning the region?

I'll post pics and stats on plugins soon.

I-A demand drops as education rises. If you are trying to build a very rural area then perhaps try building only a few elementry schools and libraries to keep your sims education down. You could also try to use the Radical Ordinance Mod which has a ordinance for radical I-A demand.

I didn't know there was an education corrolation! Thanks, and I'll give that radical ordinance mod a chance too.

I don't know if it's true, but population level might also have something to do with it. The more people the denser job areas they look for (incl. commercial), so I-A , might drop once your cities get denser. Don't hold me to it but it's what I've found to happen in many cases...

From what I've experienced, the perfect population is about 700 to 1,000 Sims for every city when you do your farmland. I'm not sure if you want to have a small unincorporated-like city within your farmland, but that's typically what I get the best development from. Too much from that, industrial demands go up.

It is a matter of regional demand too. Sims have to eat, but economy even needs other kinds of products too...
