First, some author notes:

I have been on these forums for only a short time, but my original intent before registering was to create a City Journal. As you will see from my upcoming city journal, I am not the greatest at creating cities, though I pride myself on not being the worst. This is, of course, only the introduction; to follow, there will be histories, demographics, and, of course, screenshots.

Anyway, without further ado, allow me to present: The Republic of St. Valerie.

It's great that you have developed your city so much, but you really need to work on it a lot more before posting a CJ. First of all, I see next to nothing in terms of custom content. Your coasts are too irregular, you need to get seawalls. There are way too many repetitive buildings, and you need a slope modd, since the roads leading up to your bridges are unrealistically steep. Good luck...

Heh...reminds me of Gotham...3.gif

You need a lot more in terms of content. most of the buildings I see are maxis, which are decent models...but repeat to much...

And search look around for marrasts seawalls.2.gif

looks like a massive city, one hell of a lot of buildings and a lot of repetitiveness but i think its still alright then again as you have said

not the best but not the worst.

you layout your cities like me and i can see you got a few buildings from simcity.com .... their buildings are bad...

but get some simtropolis buildings and other things and itll be an awesome city.... like mine 3.gif

Whoa, nihonkaranws! I think you should probably lay off a bit! This is his first CJ! He only joined a few months ago! Besides, he admits that he's not the best. No need to be brutal.

Mebert, I actually am quite interested in this! Like others have said, definitely take a look at the STEX and start downloading. But I actually think the city is somewhat realistic, despite its enormous size. Great start! Although I may not have time to post again, I'll try my best to keep a watch on this!

Thanks for the comments, and the constructive criticism. Several things.

    1. Slopes leading up to bridges being unrealistically steep ... It's hard to see from the picture, but all the bridges in that picture have elevated surfaces (Elevated rail, Elevated highway, Rail viaducts, etcetera).

    2. Custom content. Yes, I apologize. You see, I play on a VPC machine -
