methods of decreasing folder size

Hi all, I don't post very often but appreciate the co-operative simtropolis, my city would not be alive without it.

Well after over 2 years of working on the 1 region! i have a plugins folder of over 1 gig now and things are kinda slowing down, until i get a new computer of course.

I know there is Cleanitol, im just trying now to learn how to use it, it seems complicated and a lengthy process, but anyway. One other question i have is:

If the actual "folders" in my plugins folder contain the same files as outside them, just in the plug ins folder, can they be eliminated from the plugins folder or vice versa?? and are there any other cool ways of cleaning out the plugins folder. I also used duplicate file software too, but it didn't do much.

On SC4Devotion, there is a program called the 'Dat packer' which basically makes mega packs out of each ouf your plugins subfolders. The readme is quite extensive and can explain everything I could never hope to remember. Hope this helps a bit... Here's the thread about it and here is where you can download it (Ignore the "new version available," it's locked)  Worked wonders on my PC
