About Xurros Highway Signs

So after trying these tonight I noticed, as did other ppl before in the download feedback, that the nightlights were broken. Actually they're only half broken, they work on signs facing north and east (going by initial orientation on city load), but not on signs facing west or south. (Incidentally, Jono01's avenue versions have the same problem only backwards, at least his 3 RHS ones do, haven't tried the LHS ones yet...)

Everything seemed fine in the models/exemplars/etc, then it occured to me this might have something to do with the props, which are the signs and thus contain the nightlighting, being extended over the lot's boundaries. Sure enough, just using the lot editor to move the prop back fixes the problem, and they actually still look quite presentable this way imo.

This leads me to the following questions. 1) Was this a known issue with the game alrdy or did I by some chance stumble on a slightly useful piece of information? Just curious.

2) I know there's the customizable sign kit/tutorial/thingy now and Xurros' sign set was posted way back in '04, but it still has over 13k downloads and recent feedback posts soooo would there be any interest you think in me uploading "fixed" versions of these lots, since I'll probably be making them for myself soon anyway.

3) If I did do this, just wanna ask and make certain I wouldn't need Xurros' permission, as he doesn't seem to be around anymore and I'd just be supplying new lot files; the desc and model files would still be required from his download. (Also give credit and a link, I know.)
