SimCity Societies will NOT uninstall..please help!

I've tried 3 times to get this garbage off of my system and the progress bar fills up to about 10% and it says "gathering required information" and it just hangs.

I want this stupid thing off of my system.

I really wanted to give this game a shot but the last straw was putting the expansion pack into the SCBox or making you order it from EAonline. They coudln't sell the pack in stores as a standalone? And..$30? For some resorts and and an airport? Kiss off EA.

How long are you waiting? I would wait at least 30 minutes, and if nothing happens I would just recommend you removed it manually. Delete SCS from Program files and Users (make sure you know what you're doing) and delete it's registry entries (again, please know what you're doing).

But before you do any of the removing stuff, I would just recommend you ask on the Tilted Mill forums. They're the ones that made Societies. They should be able to answer your question.

It took me about an hour to uninstall SCS after my laptop kept on crashing and then restart or crashing into BSOD each time I try to run SCS.

I hate how EA made SCS so unstable, and hard to uninstall. I wonder if EA forced Title Mill to use monkeys as the programmers.

By the way, the reason why Title Mill made SCS so crappy, is because of EA. EA came by with it's whip, and forced Title Mill to create SCS with small amount of time and money. EA was the one who came up with the crappy blueprint of SCS, Title Mill had no choice, but to follow the blueprint

It was not Title Mill fault, it was EA's fault.

This actually happened to me. I tried about three times and gave up. Luckily the next patch finally made the game stable so I could actually load it past the intro screen. It turns out it's not THAT bad *runs and hides from mob*

as i tell everyone when dealing with computers.... "Be Patient!"

if the installer is truly hung, confirm it using 2 great tools by SysInternals; procexp & procmon.

SCS worked fine on my PC for months, then, for no noticeable reason decided to just stop working, i happened to notice this post while looking for solutions to my problem.

Sad to say my uninstall experience with SCS at first made me think it was stuck as well ( Intel Q9550, 4GB DDR3-1333,  dual WD Raptors RAID0 array on a LSI Logic 8704ELP), turns out it was just a very slow uninstall process (but not as bad as Adobe CS3 Master Suite!)

maybe uninstalling & reinstalling SCS will fix my problems.

Hopefully my mention of procexp & procmon will assist you in the future!

and, last but not least, SCS is a piece of $&@%$! compared to SC4, it looks pretty but it's designed for the intelligence of a monkey... i hope the next release in the series will go back to the way Maxis did SimCity....

UPDATE:

Reinstalling the game fixed my random crashing problem... deleting the SCS folders in the user profile made no difference, only reinstalling the game fixed the random crashing...
