    Here's a little nut for you;

There are one country in the world where all airports have yellow runway markings instead of white, and one country where a few airports have it.

    The questions is:

Which two countries are we talking about?

Why do they have yellow markings?

You can of course keep on guessing the airport on the picture on page 8, but also try this one...

The picture is from South America.

None of the yellow markings questions are from Eastern Europe, sorry.

Is it Quito, Ecuador? I really have no idea, but the vegetation doesn't look tropical, so I have to pick a city with a high elevation to make up for that...

hmm, ignore that post; i didn't realize it had gone to the ninth page.

anyways, Norway uses all yellow markings and Japan uses them at some airports. since it's to show up better against snow, i'm surprised Canada doesn't use them...

edit - btw, i've guessed 3 airports so far 4.gif

raja_indy14: I knew that one about the yellow runway markings. 4.gif  I don't know why Canada doesn't use them.... it's probably because southern Canada is not snowed up all year and so that US and international carriers do not get confused; in Northern Canada where it's very cold, most of the runways are not paved and without markings...

SNSA: I recognize that tunnel.  It's at Washington Dulles International Airport.  Am I right? 2.gif

My first instinct was Detroit Wayne Metro but the tunnel in the pic is too narrow for that.

Further referencing leads me to say with 100% certainty that this is Frankfurt am Main International Airport.

Where would they otherwise land if not at the airport? 3.gif (Alright, it has happened here once that a Spanish charter plane tried to land at a car test track, but that wasn't because of the yellow markings at the airport).

You're actually very right. The trauma of the long walk must have washed out my memory (it's the transit tunnel in the sublevel of the international terminal at Frankfurt Airport).

I have no clue about the airport above, but SNSA: Yes, I am from the UK. I've never been to Norway, but it's on the list of places I intend to see. I've been to Finland and Sweden though. Finland is my favourite place in the world!

raja_indy14: Oh, I'm sorry. I will edit the scores as quick as possible. That is a good answer, raja_indy14. Correct (That counts as a score, so you're up in 4 now).

pilotdaryl: No sorry, not right. Not very close either...

    The_Hutt: YES! Frankfurt is correct.

psander5: Not after you've been in Norway, A little expensive, though...

Here is a new airport to guess (i will come up with a new question soon...):

    (Coming)

Here is a new airport to guess (i will come up with a new question soon...):

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Clue: The airport is the old terminal building on an airport in Norway 3.gif

Research question: What is the name of the airline flying from this airport to Düsseldorf, Germany.

Warning: This could be quite easy (yeah, right...).

I have to post the picture like this, cause i have some problems with Imageshack, sorry.

Is it the old terminal building for Sandefjord? The airline flying from Sandefjord to Dusseldorf would be Ryanair...

I almost flew to Sandefjord once, but my buddy in Norway requested I fly to Gardemoen because it's a shorter drive from his house (tickets were the same price).

I got literally no stinking clue. Let's lay off the European airports and get some North American airports in action so I can win more 2.gif

edit - the only airline i can come up with is SAS, but it's not direct...

Yes, Kirkenes is right. But this is a direct airline flight. Think of that question while guessing this new airport (from North America because of the request). BTW: The research question gives a score.

Norwegian Wikipedia says Condor Airlines serves KKN, but this isn't substansiated by neither the German or English Wikipedia. More importantly, Avinor (Norwegian Airport Authority) only mentions Munich as a German destination (charter, Hamburg International). More curiously, Danish Cimber Air apparently flies between KKN and Roskilde Airport in Copenhagen next weekend.

raja_indy14: That's one of the correct answers. That's a score!

krbe: Even I didn't know all that. That's a score. (I've checked, it is correct.)

The Arrowz: Sorry, there was a problem, but now the picture is there.

SCROLL UP TO SEE THE NEXT PICTURE

    Keep on guessing!
