Question:Plopping vs Zoning

Hi,

I'm relatively new to Sim City 4, but I downloaded the modd which gives you the ability to place any building for free. I saw someone mention plopping vs zoning, and I was wondering if it is capable to make a fully functioning city by just plopping residential landmark buildings. Whenever i try to do it they all go to unemployed after a month, then all the buildings become abandoned.

Also, I was looking at the European City bit, and I see lots of buildings that are unavailable or at least I can't find, were they made on Lot Editor?

I've had trouble with this as well. In my opinion it is best to only plop a minimle amount of ploppables that come with residents or jobs... I wouldn't recommend plopping any more than, oh I dunno, 10 % of your buildings. If you already ahve a well established city and demand is high, then yes you could plop a residence w/ 3 or 4 thousand people and it would not become abandoned. I would be surprised if an entire city was made of ploppables and it actually worked.
