Smaller High Wealth Residential Houses

Can anyone point me in the direction of a mod that will restrict high wealth residential homes to grow on 2x2 lots rather than 4x3?  I love making small towns but the huge mansions take up a large chunk of my residential zones.  I like the wealthy sims in my towns but I want their houses to develop on smaller lots (without all of the yard).

If anyone can help me I would be most appreciative.

The only way you can do this is remove all the larger lots.. there is no mod to do it.

$$$ residents love large houses with large yards,  including many of the rich people in real life.

There aren't any mods to do that, the only solution is to zone smaller.

I don't know if high wealth grows easily on 2x2 lots (low density).  I just checked my wealthiest city and found 1high wealth house on a 2x2 lot!

If you zone 3x3, but not back to back, ie. leave a 1 tile strip behind your lots, you'll get smaller high wealth homes but, like Hahayoudied said, they like big gardens (sorry, I couldn't help anglicising your statement lol!)

If you're happy settling for medium wealth sims, you could zone like this:

grisresidentialzones2.jpg

All those homes are medium wealth.  If i'd zoned back-to-back, I would have got those giant lots you're trying to avoid, but by zoning with a 'hole' in the middle (or a strip if you prefer longer streets), you can prevent this.  The holes make ideal places for parks as well.

You can even zone 1x1, and that will completely eradicate gardens (except the ones you place yourself:

Those are all medium wealth homes too.

Note: I modded the grass to cost nothing and have low park effect.  If not the desirability and expenditure would be rediculous!

This isn't exactly what you were looking for, but I hope it helps a bit.

You can get only R$$ neighbourhoods with zoning back to back, only thing you have to do is to NOT give them water, You will get the better R$$ houses, but no R$$$ houses, that is how i build my R$$ neighbourhoods

Thanks for the tips guys! I try to resist giving them water for as long as possible but I do like the occasional medium density lot (which won't grow without it). psander5 - I will definitely be using your suggestion by zoning with spaces in the middle. I can't believe I didn't think of that! Thanks again...

another option is to play and zone as per normal and when houses you like are built, you make them historical. (i know, it is a bit more time-consuming but at the same time you have complete control of how yours streets look)

if you do that say every 3rd or 4th tile, the space in between can only then upgrade and your high wealth is restricted to that space only (thus not take over your residential areas),

    hope that makes sense.
