Hi to all simtropolis users.

Im a new forum user and i hope this is the correct section.I have some questions on the game here they are:

My game version is the deluxe pack ,patched  with EA official pacth, i have installed NAM(08) and some lot additions from STEX.

I am running a city of 70.000 sims here comes the first problem:

The city planner advisor, with a frequency thats near spam, says sim are asking for office zone development, and suggest me to use medium commercial zoning tool. But the city flocks of this zone types, even high density types, but the RCI demand is still high , in particular the C$$ touchs the limit Cap.

So im asking whats wrong?Maybe im doing wrong office development? If so, how i should zone my city for efficient office zones?

After asking on game mechanics, now its time for a building question:

In the  mass transits menu there is a building called parking garage ,since i started playning rush hour expansion i never managed to make it work at full, but really i never understood for what is designed .So, where is the right place  for it?

Maybe to asnwer my first question you need some screens of my city, well since its a bit late here i could not  upload or taking anything,  i would do it tomorrow if you desire.

Thanks for your attention, and besides, sorry for my english grammatics since this is not my official language i do my best.

The advisors should generally be ignored. They are one of the weakest part of the SC4 package. Build what you think is needed based on the demands and what you WANT TO DO.. generally the normal mistake is 1. Not developing several cities simultaneously so that the region builds up together. The demands are actually REGION WISE and you can put things in any city as long as you can provide good transport to and from things without it being too far (too long commute). 2. Not making enough R$ people .. its natural to want to make "nice cities" but ALL workplaces demand a large percent of R$ workers.  3. Feelling like you have to keep growing bigger and bigger rather than making YOUR OWN CITY like you want it.

The parking garage is only needed for those lots which cannot handle cars (for example bus stops, ped malls, GLR stations, etc). A good place for the garage is near a "funnel" where many sims will be passing in cars.. If you build a parking garage along with bus and possibly GLR or El Rail station grouped together, you will find many of the commuters will leave their cars and use the other transports. They are not really needed for the buildings as all zoned items are able to handle cars directly. Hopefully my explaination is not too hard to understand

Don't worry about your English, you're doing fine

Welcome to Simtropolis. And yes feel welcome to post pictures if you wish. Limit them to 600x800 or smaller. They cannot be loaded directly to ST so you will need Photobucket.com or a similar host server.

Well explained, so the point is to build up many city in connections(pratically suburbs),i really did not know about RCI being a REGIONAL demand. For all this time i tought it was only refered to single city demands. Now i can see the light....and well i will kill the city planner.

So the parking garage is close to the useless, but at last i know where to put it.

Thank you for your answers now i have other questions:

Now i know the concept of building office zones in a view of suburs develop, but im still ***** on WHERE exactly should be placed to meet all the office demands(in particular the customers parameter).Another question many times in the info of my office appears the "Wealth:low" parameter what means this? How can i fix this?

Now i have another problem that upsets me a LOT, thx again to my city planner i have build a commuter airport, after 1 sec i plopped it on the terrain the crimanls started flocking around the airport leading the entire zone to the maximum valor of crime....either the presecne of 3 Large police station cant aid to this.In a word *****???

Hi Shinzen. There is the maps/data menu, there is a map showing the attractivity for every type of development (R ?, R ??, CS ?? and so on) for every place in the city. Look around a bit, compare the data, find a good place to develop. Airports cause massive crime problems because of their size, police officers dont walk more than some tiles, so they cant catch a criminal in the middle of the airport. He will run away and commit more crimes. Hope that helps...
