DTP: Ok, and there is also the museum right?

I would like that little house in the bottom left. It's white, and has a green roof.

The Department of Transportation has read the memo, and been in contact with the Mayor regarding specifics. From these facts, and archived pictures, the DOT has a plan for Virgin Shore's first freeway, Highway 1.

Here is the plan for the terminus in the main city:

vs1ci7.png

Here is the next picture that the DOT has archived. The land requested to be reserved is for future freeway extensions, when more cities are developed:

vs3di5.png

And here is the last one that I have planned.

As you can see, the interchange planned is a Classic Diamond. The freeway continues out of this pictures's frame. If there is nothing to go to from there, then the DOT leaves it to the Mayor's discretion where to terminate it.

vs2go7.png

Please click on all the pics for FULL resolution.

Where the green stretch is demolished, access will be provided by the diamond interchange.

DTP, if there are any complications with this plan, please notify the DOT.

The DOT also approves the extension of the Red and Green bus lines.

Before the DOT can work on the passenger line, we need corresponding pics of the main city's portion.

I like Oilville. It presents a whole new area to develop. I think a lot of development proposals are going to come in. Even I have a proposal I'm thinking about 3.gif.

Patricius Maximus,

Head of the Department of Transportation

Ok! With a good map it would be much easier to plan development and such, but it's not the most important thing to have 4.gif

Great can't wait for that update! 4.gif

Hampi: OK, it'll be in the next update then.

Nope, can't seem to get a hold of him. I guess I'll do another pathetic one myself.

TimeMaster: Hampus High is there. It's visible in a couple pics from update 19. And it's definately a high school.

rct3twins: What do you mean, the ghetto? There isn't really a ghetto, and even if there were, it would need bus service too.

TimeMaster: Yes, the museum is located in Hampus Village.

    Then that house is yours.

DOT: Wonderful plans, but it appears there was a slight miscommunication. Currently the eastern and northern portions are ready to be built, but the southern portion is not necessary right now, as there are no commuters from Frontier. I guess it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and start on it too though. Also, at the south end, the dirt road the cleared ROW ends at is just a dirt track out to a few houses and farms. The freeway should probably end there with an upgrade heading to the east and along the rail line, which leads into Frontier, instead of curving to the left, as the town's just off the bottom of the picture.

If you submit a plan for a T-interchange with room for future upgrading to a full 4-way, then I will begin construction.

I'll get some shots detailing the rail line, but the passenger service would use the existing C&W line, and an existing station near the seaport, plus additional stations at the Refinery, Hampi's large development (by the hospital), and Oilville.

    Hampi: I'm working on it...

In light of the new information, the DOT sees no need for the construction of the last curve.

The DOT does reccomend that the previously mentioned path of the freeway be constructed, and terminate at the end of the cleared land.

As requested, here is the DOT's proposal for a future three-way interchange.

As you can see, it is a trumpet interchange.

When it has to be upgraded to a 4-way, the loop ramps can be upgraded to a full set of them (eg. on a cloverleaf), and be supplemented by another set in the opposite quadrant. From there a cloverstack interchange can be constructed.

supercity124:  I Think this is the spot you want, but I can't be sure.  Confirm please.

    KFCspot.jpg

I don't object to a new franchise opening up in Virgin Shores in line with the competition rules, but I will need to see some architectural plans.  I could only find two KFC's on the stex, this being the better of the two.  Pre-Approved.

I think, with all these fast food restaraunts popping up, that the department of Health & Education and the Department of Recreation might have something to say about a possible obesity worry!

Ntq$310:  I think if you want to open a branch of your bank in Oilville, you should use the same architect you used for the branch in Oak Grove.  Approved.

Hampi  #1: As your last development was such a great success, I have evey confidence that this new proposal will be equally as enriching for the city.  Development Approved.

Hampi  #2: How did you know I love coffee!  I like the building, in fact I got it for my own cities.  I recommend we build a few of these in some of the popular commercial areas such as; Hampus Village, Crazyarchitects Corner and the Resort.  Approved.

thank you for your approval, my company is quick to expand to serve more area's and give virgin shores more banking. would it be possible to have a bank in Frontier, also like the oakgrove branch?

Also dtp just to say building plop is in the cheat menu, it list hte buildings, any building you have growable and plopable will be listed in it, so that building should be there. THen using that you can plop where you want it to grow.

also i am proposing the major growth of the resort/beach area, with the expanding the beaches.

    188bustrafficvolumecb2.jpg

Though i wish i could have used something other then the bus map it best serves the purpose.

Like the current development, it will have nice beach front property, and be open to much resort style development. Giving a major boost to tourism and the econemy as developers try to buy up land, and then develope it, this area will also be to much traffic when fully developed, so this will also included dot.

And if you need nice beaches there are tons of them over the stex 2.gif

Also i must say amazing job on the planning of the freeways Patricius, you serve virgin shores very well.

No, we can't put the KFC next to the old stone arch bridge next to the ferry terminal. The KFC Restaurant should be put on the corner of Main Street and that road that leads to the ferry terminal. I will show you where.

    174Overview.jpg

It is right where that farm building is, south of the Virgin Shores Train Station. Not the farm building next to the oil well, but the farm building on the corner of Main Street and the other road. Will be next to the bridge with the modern street lights, on Main Street.

Just open the picture in paint, then select a drawing tool and outline the area in a bright or noticible color. Then save as and do what you did to show this above picture.

well in mac's it's diffrent, but for windows there's a application called paint that allows you to edit pictures to a point.

but you just need a imageshack account, or a photobucket account, you can use those to upload images from your computer, then they will give you a link that can be used to show the picture over the internet. Or you can attact the picture, through the advanced reply menu.

Someone else can explain it better.

Sorry I haven't replied, I was waiting for this:
[CLICK FOR FULL RESOLUTION AND A GOOGLE MAPS INTERFACE, and give me feedback!!!]
    AtlasIssue2.jpg

The new and improved, comprehensive Virgin Shores atlas, though I stupidly forgot to take a picture of the tranist data view for Oilville and am thus currently unable to make a map section for it.
The map shows the location of all civic buildings and roads, as well as town names, and the under-construction highways,
    Highway1herald.jpgHighway2herald.jpg

    replybanner.jpg

TimeMaster: Actually, it's in the next city tile north.

Ntq$310: Waters' fine. There should be some suitable areas offshore, but since this is a very sensitive issue I'm going to put it to a public vote.

DOT: That looks good. I'll start building it tonight.

sedimenjerry: I haven't yet decided how cities incorporate, but it probably wouldn't be, with only 116 people.

    n-m-2k8-yeah: Thanks!

psander5: Actually, I think he meant one of the farms just west of there.
OK, Oilville will now have a brack of the VSNB.
Hampi's developments will also be built.

    jacqulina: Thanks.

Ntq$310: Hmm... Frontier currently has 0 commercial buildings, and I'd kinda like to keep it that way, so I'd prefer not.
Where are they listed when doing it? I've never used it before.
Well now you have something better to use 2.gif
That area (about a kilometer long) will definately not be developed in it's entirity immediately, but I guess as a long-term plan it should be OK.

supercity124: You mean the corner of Main St. and Ferry St.? And we still need a BAT to use.

    Ntq$310: Yes, please!

supercity124: The same way that picture was posted. Upload it to photobucket (please not image shack).

TimeMaster: Open the image with AppleWorks, and from there it should be pretty self-explanitory. On the PC, right-click, Open With...\Paint.

There are tutorials to do something like this around on the internet somewhere.

wow supercity good job on learning how to post online pictures. And this area will take very long to develope, but for the future, and as a long term plan it will be very valuable. It's also great recreation space.

great transportation map, i understand the poll, and no bank is ok.

ohh and building plop you search for the name of the building, when you find it click on it, and press the esc button, then you will se possibly diffrent types of it, it might so growable, or something, then press esc again, and you will be able to plop it then...

and better one to use? do tell dtp 9.gif.
