Bigger city tiles

Hi guys, I've been out of this forum for a while, but I'm back with a question.

Is there any way to get bigger city tiles in a region? Bigger than the small medium and large. Because the whole juggling between cities gets really annoying if you have a large city that spans several tiles. Having to set up all those neighbor deals for power and whatnot and the separate budgets.  So is there a mod or some way that allows you to have just one huge city tile? So you don't have to switch around. And it would make terraforming easier.

To my knowledge there isn't any mod like that, but if there is, u probably gotta have a lot of RAM.

    i was thinking this can be done by perhaps getting in the game's data and changing the size of what a large city tile is supposed to be, and making it bigger, then you just use one of the region maker tools to create a region that consists of just that tile.

    or perhaps smaller tiles, bigger than the originals, but smaller than let's say a whole region, that way a region is still split up and manageable for the PC but there are less tiles to keep track of.

    Maxis really should rethink the whole region thing in the next sim city.

    This is a good idea although it has a one defect: it would take na hour to load such big city tile (if you have a big plugin folder it would take even longer) And as City2TheMax mentioned above you would need a looooooooooot of RAM!

    I read about this on here a couple months ago, and someone said that you would have to break into encrypted files to do it.

    Hello Pooka 2hot4u,

    Currently - for the life of SimCity 4 - the answer is NO! You can not have more than a 256x256 tile city, as this would require modifications to the .exe - which would violate both the copyright and your end-user-license agreement.

    However - you can modify the region's config.bmp file - to change the number and/or location of the 3 currently existing sizes of city tiles; if you want - you could have a region of just one 256x256 city (which seems kind of pointless - as this eliminates your region play options). Personally - I think one should seriously consider the benefits of surrounding your 256x256 city tiles with 16 citiy tiles of 64x64 - just to maximize your regional play options; or breaking your 256x256 cities into 16 sub-divisions of 64x64.

    And the SC4Terraformer was written just to make it easier to terraform entire regions.
