I've been semi-retired since the large scale systems pull back in 1990, and fully retired now for 8 years since I turned 65 and couldn't get any more college teaching contracts because of the 65 and out union rule.  Most of the problems in my life have been caused by various union involvments in my endeavours, so you might believe that I think there is too much unionism around, and you'd be right.

Dinner time, Jacky, and I'm here, so how about a nice pork chop, some fresh asparagus, with steamed little potatoes with some melted butter to put on them.

I've recently become a fan of Brooklyn Brown Ale. You wouldn't happen to have any on tap in here would you, Jacky? Pepsi always does the trick too though.

It's not so much the alcohol in beer that I like, but the bubbles. Therefore, Pepsi is a perfectly acceptable substitute. Although some occasions just call for a beer.

I would never start an argument over a person's preference. All us liking different varieties of products keeps that variety intact.

Gee, I do like Fresca, but I can't have it.  Some of the meds I am on are affected by grapefruit enzymes.

If you want a real fright, remember that I was born when there was a very brief King on the British Throne who was followed by his very surprised younger brother when he quit to marry an American gold-digger.  This turned out pretty well because the old bounder was an admirer of a certain German WW I vet, who got himself in big trouble later.  He was even received at Berchtesgaden.

If Edward had remained on the throne, we might have been on opposite sides in the last war.

Hi, Jacky!  Its good to see you about again.  Now, here I am protecting your age, and you want to give it away.  My late wife had very long hair at one time, but when her first husband died, she cut it short and never grew it again.  I believe he insisted on long hair.  Of course, this is traditional with certain European women, especially those born before 1940, so maybe we should get off this subject.

I'd like some toast and jam with Earl Grey tea to wash down my tube steaks.
